darpar Normally you would just drain as much fuel out of the tank as you can,
disconnect the fuel and vent hoses, any wiring, unscrew the filler neck and
the holding straps....then just drop the tank don't to get access to the fuel pump
or sending unit for the fuel gauge.
That's the hard way. Cost about $400 to have someone do it. I have an almost full tank of gas. Would have had to pump it all out, remove the filler tube, all the vent hoses, try to balance the tank partially dropped while trying to disconnect 2 fuel lines and 2 vent lines from the fuel pump assembly, remove old pump, install new pump and then do everything in reverse all by myself laying on the ground. No thanks. If ever I need to replace the Chinese made (Delphi) fuel pump again it would not take long to do it.
