Report from Desert Storm:

The weather has been wonderful! 36 holes each day and no heat strokes!
Yesterday was Troon North Pinnacle. It kicked our asses. I don't think anyone was pleased with how they played.
Last night was very drunk out as well. 😀

Today was Golf Club of Estrella - a fantastic price for a fine course.
The day was highlighted by me taking a 14 on the par 5 8th. A freaking 14. The highest score I've ever taken on a hole. I also had a quad on number 2. Still kept the front 9 under 50! (two birdies helps) 🤣
As for how you get a 14, lets see... desert, desert, bunker bunker bunker (yes, same fn bunker), desert, chip, two putt. Easy.

      I had a 7 on a par 3 yesterday. Hit tree on second, shank, shank, shank, on in 6 and one putt. 😅

        Played today, but don't have a score to report - today's game was a team competition, with the best two scores from the fourball counting on each hole, and there were a couple of holes where I didn't finish because I wasn't going to contribute. (I wouldn't have been in contention anyway - was a tough day for scoring (to give an idea of the strength of the wind, I hit solid drives on the first two holes - 190 yards into the wind on the 1st, 250 yards downwind on the 2nd...), and I didn't play all that well.)

        Mattyv oo bad today isn't Saturday. High temp of 90 today and there was the slightest resemblance of a chill in the air this morning. After the summer we had 70° feels really cold!

        I feel bad for you. It was 48° in SW Minnesota and misting. No golf. 70° sounds wonderful to me.

          I used up all my good shots yesterday. 98 at WeKoPa playing with FauxAmish and RangerX. I hit a lot of nice putts today but none of them went in. 39 putts. Poor Iron play didn't help me either. Had fun and it was nice meeting a few of you interweb people!

                There was a scorecard playoff!! It was decided on the first handicap hole with a birdie by @CallMeAl

                CallMeAl and MarkT won with a combined +1 and a birdie on the number 1 handicap hole. They beat the defending champs @Baaab and @leftofleft in the playoff.

                JimEng and DanW were third with a 3 over score.

                Individual net scores were @CallMeAl with a -4, @jamez with a -3, and @sdandrea1 with a -2. Good shooting by those guys!

                For the local sub-tourney, it was won by @hobbit and @kchacker with a best ball -6!

                kchacker started 3 under after two holes, and we held on from there. I covered a few holes to ham and egg us very well with Kchacker. The best part of the day was kchacker looking at me on 18 and saying - "this hole is yours" just before swinging.... into the desert.

                Good times! You have to make it to Phoenix when this COVID shit is over!

                  Congratulations to the winners had a blast today as always.....good to see Rick, Pat, Ali, and Steve. Everyone was missed for sure.
