This really is dumb to be discussing something that has been around for at least 3 years now.

I've noticed every brand/type of ball I've bought in that period has been reduced distance. 😩

I still think the point of golf is to get the ball on the hole in the least mount of strokes. Are 18 hole scores on the 50’s becoming commonplace every week on tour? No…. Then why are their panties in a bunch?

Par4QC We can be glad he's in the air and not in the room right now.

Oh yeah?🤬. I've got your shovel right here.....

    😂

Typhoon Then why are their panties in a bunch?

I honestly believe that it is land use/costs, environmental issues, water, etc. cloaked in the notion of ‘distance control’. It is about now, but more so the next generation of golfers in high level golf. JMO

      DonM Not me.
I'm liking the cursing and screaming as my ball now flies so short of the hole. I can only imagine the new words I'll make up with an even shorter shot.
      Might even start 'packing'. 😲

ode I doubt the 'average' golf swing will lose any yards at all under this new proposal.
And I'm assuming this 317 yards is the carry distance also, so there will still be those 350+ drives. Many of them every tournament.

Big deal - 5% loss of distance. That can be easily made up for many am’s with a good fitting. Most hacks won’t even know or realize the difference.
And, it won’t effect rec golfers for several years. 🏌️‍♂️

Amazing that golf’s governing body is the only one in sports looking to move the sport backwards. Why don’t we take all these clowns and tell them they no longer can use a cellphone or the internet. They like not advancing technology like the world and life was designed. Make them use pay phones and no computer. Fuckin foolish shit. Let’s take a sport that’s growing and and make it less attractive.

Oh shit, some guy is gonna do a 3 minute mile, let’s make all runners wear shoes that are 4 sizes too big so they can’t run as fast🙄

Just another example of the industry of golf making themselves more niche and irrelevant. Maybe that’s what they want

Eguller And, it won’t effect rec golfers for several years.

It will never affect the recreational golfers I know. The "illegal" golfball market will stay healthy.
