Par4QC If 160 yds. are needed, we will pull the 160 yd. club.

But if that 160 yard club is no longer a wedge or nine iron, it may not hold the green from the rough. My understanding of why they can bomb and gouge it is because all they often need for a second shot is a wedge which they can spin enough from the rough to hold. An 8 iron, maybe not? So they may have to throttle back to hit more FW's

Who knows as it is unclear/undecided. There very well may be a bifurcation.
By the way, many of the pros have balls 'tweaked' for them by the OEMs.

If I am reading this correctly, any competitor in an 'elite' competition will probably have to use them.
I'm sure some elite Ams probably get freebies, but think of all the qualifiers that are held. That's a lot
of conforming new golf balls. Hardly worth wasting a brain cell at this point as they are still taking
input on the distance proposal.

Just in case, I'm prepping a stock up now ball sale.. 🤑

You're correct. According to Trevino, the equipment is called John Deere that is having the greatest impact. 🤔
Hard to 'roll back' that equipment advancement without riots.

Eguller The courses I play here obviously are keeping me from my potential. I'll have to beg a round off someone this summer, when it is hot and dry, at TPC Deere Run. Can't wait to hit that 250 drive, with a carry of 180 😄. And hoping I'm not fooled into thinking I have the right equipment.

I think the USGA should have an age limit to be in decision-making positions. I'd say maybe anyone older than 150 years has to retire. I fear they may be too entrenched in the past. Just let the rough grow and don't cut the fairways so short.

How about making the ball slightly shorter but ‘spin more’ to force them to ‘play shots’ versus aim and fire away ? Turn everyone into Bubba. 🤣

This really is dumb to be discussing something that has been around for at least 3 years now.

I've noticed every brand/type of ball I've bought in that period has been reduced distance. 😩

I still think the point of golf is to get the ball on the hole in the least mount of strokes. Are 18 hole scores on the 50’s becoming commonplace every week on tour? No…. Then why are their panties in a bunch?

I honestly believe that it is land use/costs, environmental issues, water, etc. cloaked in the notion of ‘distance control’. It is about now, but more so the next generation of golfers in high level golf. JMO
