I used a couple of my better std grips with a lot of extra tape to regrip my old nickent wedges. These are old, but the grooves are really nice.

Doing some disassembly. Bought a PXG Gen 4 driver head / Fuji Ventus TR 5S shaft from a guy on another forum.

Got it yesterday, and somebody funny did the assembly....put a 1" ferrule on top of the adapter. So, cut off the ferrule today and it looks like it was covering up over-aggressive tip prep. Driver comes out to 45", and the tip probably needs 1.25" trimmed to get over the cosmetic issues. Not sure what I am going to do there.

No complaints about the seller though. Said he bought it from Grips4Less. They used an aftermarket adapter, and the adapter even has some significant scratches on it. I told him I'd just send it all back to him (he even sent the club without payment and said I could pay after inspection). He said fine on the return, and then said, nah, just keep it for the trouble. So I countered with paying for the head, and we'll settle up on the shaft once I see what I can do with it.

The shaft has a Grip Pride CPX midsize grip - and man I think this may be the worst feeling grip that I have ever gripped. That thing is just awful. Slippery, feels like it is moving in your hands. Just plain awful.

I've hit it with the stock HRZDUS Red and it's by far the lowest spinning driver I've owned. But at 45.75" in length, it's a bit tough to control sometimes.

So I "aquired" a new head weight and adapter so I can shorten it a 1/2". Gonna put the LA in it as I've used them in my PXG.

This head is MUCH better, so it should be a low spin beast when I get it finished!

Sparky and the tip probably needs 1.25" trimmed to get over the cosmetic issues. Not sure what I am going to do there.

Cheap fix = a piece of black electrical tape and swing away.

      Eguller It's what I've done.
But you do realize that there are those 'out there' that will spend $200+ on a new shaft instead. And they were 'fitted' and all can 'break 90'. 🀣

I get accused of being OCD sometimes. Back when I was still working, a couple of buddies would come into my office and when I wasn't looking would pull the tape out of the tape dispenser about an inch and wait to see how long it would take me to tear it off. The next thing they would do is they would turn a book or notebook slightly off square, again to see how long it took me to notice it and put it back they way I wanted it to be. Now that I'm retired I don't care about that stuff any more. You can tell by my messy work bench.

mulegolf hahahahaha... I love the story about a couple of buddies, one was old and the other would mess with him by turning an outlet plate screw just a little bit off. Ocd buddy would have to go find it and fix it. One day his buddy stops by and forgets to turn a screw, and thinks nothing of it. A week later ocd calls him and with a frazzled voice says I give up, what screw did you turn I can't find it....

I'm liking this recent driver shaft transplant.
