I'll start. Vertex AW on SK Fiber TT75R shaft. Cleveland Launcher HB 5W on UST 55 Gold R shaft.

sdandrea1 hit about 20 balls with the 175 Ultralight driver. No problem hitting it straight, plus a few pulls. NOTHING went right (offset, closed face). The flight is medium and the sound is very solid. The feel is very different from the XXIO and I think it's in the shaft tip. This A flex Integra shaft is light but not as soft in the tip as the 36g XXIO shaft. The flight of the range balls was "different ". It was like there was very low spin. Balls dove out of the trajectory a bit sooner and rolled out.......WAY out. This thing could be a monster in Florida. I'll take it out for 18 holes on Tuesday, possibly tomorrow and report back.

Update. After 27 holes with this driver, I'd say I'm comfortable with it. Love the sound feel and flight. Easy to hit straight. Launch angle is VERY sensitive to tee height. Distance is as long as my Cobra Fmax Super Light, but no longer. Good solid hits require smooth tempo; stepping on it results in bad shots. Not very forgiving outside the sweet spot. Overall the Cobra is a better driver. It's more forgiving, just as long, and less sensitive to tee height and tempo.

I played yesterday (38-43-81....ran out of gas on the back nine!), and I re-learned one thing: My experiment
with graphite shafts in my wedges didn't work for me!! I have a Maltby M-Series 56* that I've had a couple of
years and like real well. Last fall I got the bright idea that I should put a graphite shaft in it to make the "feel"
the same as my other irons. Well, all that has done has taken me from a decent wedge player to an inconsistent
one!! Yesterday, I threw a different (steel shafted) wedge in the bag, and hit several good chips and pitches
for par saves! Today, my "build" is to put the steel shaft back in the Maltby wedge.....for good this time!!
(Why do I do stuff like that.....???)

fatshot---Did you build the graphite shafted wedge the same heft match as the steel shafted wedge? What shafts did you use?

I had the same idea years ago, with the same result.
I used to have wedges that were heavy and stiff and was decent with them, but no feel.
If you want more "feel", use a regular weighted iron shaft tipped to a 7 iron flex.

the wedge b/c that's what I had! Probably should have got ahold of a heavier shaft. All spring I've been feeling
like the wedge was too light, and I was inconsistent with it. I guess I've played all these years with heavier
wedges, and I need to stay with what I'm familiar with!

Did you heft match (swing weight match) the same letter/number with both shafts to the same wedge head is what I am asking?

No. With the graphite it weighs about D8. The steel wedge I used yesterday is in the E range. I get what
you're saying. The graphite was not an "apples to apples" comparison....

OK. Makes sense more about shaft weight/balance point than heft match. I have been able to use lighter weight graphite shafted wedges but made the wedges the same MoI (kg-cm ^ 2) as my irons with same graphite shaft 64g 40" raw 3.4 torque.

Since, it's graphite I use lead/tungsten tip weights with Swing Science heads. If they were Wishon heads easier with hosel weight ports. I very rarely use powder/cork and only on steel shafts. Last time was MoI heft matching the Stan Thompson Ginty's. If the Ginty's had a removable sole plate then I would have gone there first but they do not.

Example Swing Science FC-One Plus 7i graphite Swing Science FC-One Plus shaft 64g 3.4 torque 40" raw. 37 3/8" playing length D-5 and 2656 kg-cm ^ 2. In steel I go to a target heft of 2680 kg-cm ^ 2. in Graphite I drop it 20 points to a target of 2660 kg-cm ^ 2. these are toe down measurements. In 1/2" length graduation figure .7 increase per iron on a 14" fulcrum swing weight scale would be a rough estimate. IMO this is why golfers struggle with light graphite as the heft match is poor performing for them. Check center impacts is how I test.

more the "cut/glue hobbyist" type. I would not distinguish myself with the name "clubmaker," LOL. You obviously
are! Thanks for giving me some other factors to think about....

Good idea. Most would use "R" steel (weight of shaft variable) 8i but 7i is close. Or if you are a Wishon guy use Wishon's Hi-Flighted steel wedge shaft.

What you should find is that it's an easier (less complicated) way of keeping the total club weight up but keeping some feel (softer flex) as well. It should still feel more stable than graphite, imo.
My personal experience with graphite shafted wedges is that they feel great but they seem to "break down" when you use them in wet grass, or fluffy sand.
You could put graphite in your Gap wedge if you like that feel on full shots better, or want to keep the consistency with your iron set, but I find steel to be more reliable on half shots with the Sand wedge.

Agree but fatshot is older so suggested a tad lighter.

Btw, I used an 8 iron tipped shaft (Black Gold) in my Snake Eyes Viper Tour 2 putter.
Dyno sent me that shaft and it was full of poon.

scotts33 I always liked Wishon's Hi Flight wedge shaft. Fantastic on those short shots, but the tradeoff is it will balloon on 3/4 to full swings. I have Accra SP-T graphite now. It's 125g I think and it can take at least a 3/4 swing. It doesn't work as well as the Wishon on the little touch shots though. I miss my old PCF Micro Tour 56 with Hi flight shaft; it made me look better around the greens than I was.

KCee I think wedge shafts can work, even for full shots, but they are not all created equally. The ~ 8i shafts in a wedge work well IMO unless your wedge is.a crazy high head weight vs. your 8i. If it's softepped ~ x2-3 then IMO full shots are still doable/fine. I don't like to step on wedges anyway unless I gotta get up over a tree or something like that, otherwise it's more of 3/4 seing, etc.

FYI re the HiFlight Wishon wedge shaft.....it is an untipped Apollo Shadow steel shaft....yes untipped....that's why they are ballooning!

Another option is to do what FST does .... There KBS Hi Rev wedge shaft in S flex is a KBS Tour X flex 8i shaft.....so soft stepped x2-3 to get to same/similar flex from the butt, yet a slightly softer tip then a straight in S flex KBS Tour shaft, so going to be roughly the same cut weight!
