it costs to go out and it costs more if you want a quality meal.
i'm as cheap and frugal as anyone and because I love to cook, don't go go out for dinner as much as my peers, once every 2 weeks maybe....I did on Friday with a buddy and we shared 2 apps ....calamari and mussels and each ordered a personal pizza, I had two glasses of wine he, 3 beers and it was $140 plus tip FFS. It was good but thats a weeks worth of groceries.
Last nite made a wonderful pan seared , beef tenderloin with an herbed cream sauce, garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus and it cost me like $10.
As for ground beef, its getting expensive here $5.99 a pound for lean. I don't use it much but will grind my own at times or have it ground by the butcher. Made a nice traditional Shepard's pie last weekend and it called for ground lamb, which was hard to find and $12 a pound....fckers
