He needs to get into 2019. I'd think, just from reading all the posts from FGI/Golfbuzz & other forums, that there are 100s of players that now are able to get his components, and build their own. And there are certainly 1000s of players out there that would never touch components, no matter who built them. So, this head will not fit the majority. But, it will be sold! I personally like it as it fits my 'style' of play and building, with the specs/smaller size, and that I do hit the ball too high with higher lofted heads.(I play 7.5-8.5) Not to say it is right for me, but it would 'fit' in my bag. But I'll never buy one. It won't improve me over my older heads.

I found the best solution for the consumer when they called me and wanted extra yardage off the tee as they ALL asked that question! I simply asked them how much extra distance did they desire off the tee?

The general reply was 10 to 30 yards. I would say, "The price of the cub plus $5.00 per yard desired". LOL

Weirfan 9.5 and 10.5 degree heads make up over 90 percent of driver sales.

Not sure why they didn't go with these lofts but I guess their research makes them feel 9 and 11 will be the best for sales.

Whether it is better or not, the vast majority of people are against using a driver with more than 10.5 stamped on it....retail operations carry very few above 10.5 and under 9. That said these are all heads that can be adjusted ......People still like to keep the loft under 12 and will use the shaft to adjust launch ...even though its only good for 1-2 *

I'm pretty sure they can hand pick for lofts in between 9* and 11* also. They can probably cover everything from 8.5* to 11.5* at least with just those two heads.

garyt1957 In the past, I was always able to get a hand picked at least 1* lower and usually upto 1.5* open. So that effectively would net me what I needed. I'd guess they will be ok with those spec ranges.

I'd like one, but the one thing that has been made so easy by the adjustable hosels is the shaft change outs and its hard to justify dropping big money on a new shaft to optimize the solid state drivers anymore. So many great options out there that are cheaper bc of availability and easy to install/ uninstall/sell if they aren't THE one. If Inhad one shaft that I knew was absolutely optimized for me, cool, but I don't know of such a critter nor is it going to be right for me all the time as I play too little to be as consistent as it would require. Adjustable hosels may be a farce, but shaft change outs are a real deal and most tinkerers/ guys that would go components like that.

If you want to increase yardage, a proper fitting will likely produce the best results. 20-30 yards is on the upper end for improvement and likely only if the combo you have now is ill fit, but a 10-20 yard improvement is not uncommon nor unreasonable. Getting the proper fit head and shaft and optimal launch and spin numbers is important to maximizing distance. Don't disregard the importance of the ball. I was shocked how much difference a ball change made for me last year...easily gained 10+ yards with the driver on a good strike.

I thought I would resurrect Chad's thread on the 519SHPR. Turns out it is quite a bit different than the 919THI. The CG change that Tom did does change launch and spin characteristics quite a bit so the two heads do have a large amount of fitting room between them. I am getting 15 yards more run out with same shaft, same playing length and same MoI and same loft 11.5 deg. between the two. I had my doubts but real world usage with dried out fairways with both heads the 519SHPR is longer and my spin rates tend to be higher on average so the 519SHPR helped me with that. 90 mph club head speed.

As far as I can tell same forgiveness. I like the slightly smaller footprint volume size. I tend to like 400cc drivers so the 519SHPR is slightly smaller than the 919THI with the same kind of 919THI forgiveness. As far as I am concerned all 400cc and up driver heads are very forgiving compared to a 195cc persimmon head. 😁

Can’t find the cost. If it’s a 9-6-4 ti without adjustability is shouldn’t be more than 69 or 79 bucks. Can it be that much better than my 400 cc Alpha reaction? People like me use smaller heads for workability, not extra distance. Playing for roll is not something you can depend on.

Correct Wishon/Diamond Golf UK is a business for clubmakers/fitters who are in business for profit.

Tom himself has said that nowadays the 6-4 Ti faces can be engineered thin enough to reach the COR limit...I conclude that thus there is no need for the more exotic materials to get the same performance from a 6-4Ti face. This is contrary to what we heard about the 6-4 Ti vs. Beta-Ti or any other "hot" faces in the mid to late-2000s era.

Alpha used 15-3-3-3 Ti-Forged active beta titanium in the V2 the same on a GS Hi-COR Plus early 2000's both 400cc heads. I don't think there is a large performance gain today all things being equal. Slight maybe. The higher the club head speed with smash factor and things being equal gains can be had. VFT heads with good QA at the foundry are very important IMO. For my clients distance isn't #1 in their needs and why they come to me it's distance with accuracy since the driver is the most off line club for most hackers.

Wishon driver heads are designed differently with a unique bendable hosel to adjust for loft, lie and face angle for the specific golfer.

It really is a nice head. I've hit some absolute bombs with it ... Agree with Scott .... Longer than the 919. Smaller footprint for those looking for that. IMO noticeable between that and the 919 and very much noticeable vs. modern driver.

ode Noticeably smaller looking at address vs a modern driver is your observation? That sounds good to me. I really prefer the look of something along the lines of the drivers circa 2003-2006. I just wish they had the MOI of the new designs

DC300 it's pretty close in forgiveness. The 919 is not as bulbous as other 460cc heads and is forgiving as anything. Same thing with the 519.....I'll try and get some comparison pics up when I get around to it. Mishits, at least higher on the face were met with good results. Lower on the face not quite as good. It's forgiveness Ng enough IMO!

ode hmm, low on the face tends to be my up and down miss, not great news. When I miss I pull the head enough to get low toe.. super fun, low duck hooks. Unfortunately, I’m a timing player, so when I’m on, I can stripe persimmon, when I’m off, 1000cc isn’t big enough. I fight the hooks badly.

That's the higher CG change that TW did on the 519SHPR. For players that want to work the ball that's higher CG is needed. For me and my higher spin rate the 519SHPR helps. The driver, I would compare it to is the Alpha V2 400cc closest head that I can think of.
