Unfavorable Lie: Been Here Before?

Me too. I would have hit the bush and hurt my wrist and the ball would have slingshot back at my head or package.

I would only try that shot if my playing partner would let me borrow one of his clubs......

That was cool! I don't play in competitions, so I'll always take a drop if in a situation like that. I did have a ball bounce up and settle on top of the outer limb of a bush about 3 feet above the ground once and I advanced it baseball style, but in the middle of the base like that I wouldn't even attempt a shot with nothing but a score at stake.

I play a lot of desert courses. On more than a few occasions I have had his lie or similar. One that I remember was I landed in a bushand the ball was basically suspended about a foot above the ground towards the outer edge of the bush. I was about 10 yards short of the green. I decided to play it, hit the shot and got the ball inside 10 feet on the green. Can't remember if I made the put or not. My buddies know that I will attempt a shot from almost any lie if I can get a club on the ball. If they find it before I do they know not to touch it.

At least it couldn't affect anyone following him. They'd be able to toss it out of the bunker, under the new rule.

Toulon Seve's shot there is really nothing remarkable. I'm on my knees for several shots/round. Usually after the fact, but nevertheless.....

Those were all amazing, love that Sergio legit climbed the tree, doesn't seem possible that he gained anything from not taking the unplayable on a 382 yrd hole, but it was cool nonetheless
