accufitgolf Well, I can't disagree with you because you say it is "your experience," but I have to say that my experience has been the exact opposite.
I have made my feeling known repeatedly on this site about how much faster I feel it is to play with a rangefinder than without one. However, on the previous threads I have had to concede that a rangefinder may be slower than a watch -- I had no frame of reference because I had never really played with anyone who wore one. That changed this summer when I started playing with a group of guys, most of whom wear a GPS watch.
OMFG!!! Almost every shot my playing partners would be wandering around, looking at their watch, then looking at the flag, then back at their watch trying to figure out where the flag is in terms of the front, middle, and back readings. Then they'd discuss their reading with one of the other guys who was also wearing a watch. Finally, they'd go to their bag or, worse, walk back to the cart, to finally select a club. I felt like strangling at least one of my partners every game I played with them.
A rangefinder? Raise to eye, press button, know distance -- the exact distance. I think rangefinders, when used correctly, are way faster.
