Here in Illinois, the spring and early summer was far too wet for farmers to plant on time. Soybeans can be planted later, and some farmers put them in very late. They needed a good growing season and didn't get it, and last night's frost/freeze will have killed a lot of those that had not yet matured. Corn had the same issues but the fields that got planted will be okay, but the yields will be down.
I saw corn being harvested on Wednesday. The first I've seen so far. There is still a bit of green in most fields.
