BTW, I agree with you. She chose to shoot him. She's an arguably awful human being based on what came out about her over the course of this trial. I wanted to see a precedent set that you can't get away with such things. It was and I am happy for that. However, Botham's own brother didn't think she deserved a day in jail. None of us know for sure exactly why she did what she did. Too bad for her, who she was came to light, and was used to interpret her actions through that developed profile.
To me...this is a fair sentence. I was hoping she'd get 8 and feared she'd get nothing. Also, I was concerned the jury who made the bold statement of handing down murder wouldn't be able to really stick it to her.
She'll be appealing and may get out a lot sooner. I doubt she does half of the 10 year sentence.
