Low launch soft feel iron shafts?

What does that mean exactly.....assumed most graphite would feel soft but?? Wishon s2s red have a stiff tip but softer in the middle....not sure how it will feel, but may be a candidate!

What would happen if one used a softer flex but with more tipping?
Soft feel with reduced launch. Possibly.
Some shafts have extra tip section to accommodate such things.

Yes, in a way. Like the concept used for flighting a set of Rifle shafts by using softer flexes with more tip trimming for the lower flighted ones. I've never tried this, not really. So I'm only offering it up as a possibility.
But I have seen unintended results that suggest this could work.

I also agree with Scott that there is probably a swing flaw at work here, and the shaft is not likely to fix it.

govols To get low launch, you will need stiffer tips. I've yet to find that to feel 'soft', in any flex of graphite shaft. Esp. an iron shaft, and I have been trying different ones for many, many years. Also, softer the flex= higher the launch, so that can be ruled out. The only exception I've found to that is the UST V2 hybrid shafts, in A flex. Nasty feel.

JMO but these don't exist. Lower trajectory is totally dependent on delofting club head along with ball position which also will change spin. Flippers always ask me this during fitting. 😉

Stiffer tip = late release.

Soft feel can come from soft butt section even in a tip stiff shaft. Search out that profile and you should be happy. The GD shafts i mentioned above would be one , an excellent shaft albeit on the higher end of the price spectrum ...but if its the best fit shaft, worth the money

That is reality is what is happening. Golfers don't like to hear it but it's reality. (Especially flippers). Late release players can be high ball hitters ala Henrik Stenson but they don't add loft.

He has nothing on my grandson. This kid will hit an 8i(35 degrees) so high you lose it. But, I've seen him hit it over 225 from the rough, at the same time!

Yes, I personally have BTDT. I am no longer a flipper, and now I do see flighting differences from different iron shafts. Although in my case, I usually can't take advantage of it, because my swing seems to prefer a stiffer tip shaft even though my paltry speed doesn't.

Yeah, and that kind of kid is everywhere these days. On the 6000 yard course at our club, those young guys are playing many of the par 4's as driver, flip wedge or chip shot.

On a 125 yard par 3, they hit the ball a mile high. I don't know if many of them know how to flight the ball down for that shot, though.
