Fox seems to be still learning, but I love the 10 hours of coverage. With that much coverage you can pick and choose when to watch. Seeing holes you don't normally see in the AT&T Tournament in February which is nice also.

Azinger has no problem making some funny observant comments. When Stenson took off his hat at the end of his round Azinger said, "what happened to his head". Stenson did have a strange haircut.

Fox added one small stat box to the player's status as he's preparing for his next stroke. In addition to the yardage to the hole or the length of the putt, they added the position he is currently in on the leaderboard. That to me is a lot better than waiting for them to flash the entire standings on the first couple of pages, usually prior to going to a commercial break. I also noted they don't do it for each player before each shot for whatever reason but I appreciate it when it's included.

I often wonder why all telecasts don't add this important piece of info while I'm watching live coverage.

They don't want people to switch the channel, especially if it's Tiger and he's 10 behind
      😉

      Good ole hat hair!

Par4QC yeah between those two guys they lapped the field in strikes gained scrambling.

Pebble Beach looks like it would be a blast to play.....regular set up, not USGA conditions.

My impression may be wrong, but seems like Rose's ball striking has been worse since he went to Honma, but ??

I think Rose is a great player, but I've never enjoyed watching him swing. He always looks a bit off balance and not in tempo to me compared to other pros.

Koepka is stuck in neutral through the back nine today. I feel that if he doesn't make any hay on holes 1-7 today he ain't got it.

To me, it doesn't appear he is playing with a 'chip on his shoulder'. That is when he is most motivated
        and at his best. JMHO.

Looking back on it now nobody other than Mitchell and Furyk are doing much today. Can't wait until the afternoon wave can do.

          Here comes the afternoon guys.

I wonder how many times McIlroy and Rahm's caddies will pick up the wrong bag?

McIlroy hits one 354 yards! Holy cannoli!

I've been watching with the sound off, so I'd say the Fox coverage isn't annoying me. The USGA seems to have backed off on the extreme setup. No whining about green speeds. I like the rough tall and the fairways narrow setup. Seems fair but challenging.

Yeah, the mute button does work well. Love the look of the course too.

Agree about the setup. The greens are so small and sloped that they can easily become yet another black eye for the USGA if they try to flex their muscles just the least bit. The course has been fairly receptive so far and although the wind will pick up a little this weekend - I'm guessing they'll err on the side of caution as it relates to firmness and speed.

It's worth noting that Mike Davis isn't involved with the course setup this year... that doesn't mean there's not plenty of time left to screw it up royally, but I would guess that the only real obstacle they're hoping to avoid at this point revolves around the rules.
