Walterjn My wife and I always worried when something went wrong with our car/vehicle. And the cost associated with repairs. I'd cuss, she'd cry, we never had much money for such things, and sometimes just had to wait.
I always told her.....you know, some people do not have money for cars/vehicles, let alone repairs....... Look at how lucky we are to be able to own one and make repairs when needed!
I sure am hoping that tranny, or anything similar, is not the problem in your truck. Major repair cost!
