Yes, basically the same as 431.

CallMeAl 431 is soft, or at least feels that way. My Ping ie-1 irons were 431 and felt very nice, mulch better than both my eye2 stainless AND eye 2 copper

In my world 304 and carbon steel are relatively soft and 431 and 17-4 are pretty hard. All stainless will rust under the right conditions. Surface impurities and a slow boat to China and stuff will arrive with some surface rust although it will easily polish off.

Raised on the ocean and I've seen plenty of stainless rust.....it's certainly more resilient vs carbon steel varieties.

Very, very expensive. Used in nuclear reactors among other uses. Don't try to drill a hole in it.

We make parts out in Inconel (predominantly 625 and 718) all the time. Tough on tooling.

azgreg We use a fair amount of Inconel and Hastelloy too. We tend to let others machine it for us these days.

We used to machine everything in house, but we save a lot having only 1 CNC and 1 experienced machinist in-house.....I miss the old days though.

A partial sheet of 1/2" pre finished maple plywood. Some paint, and 1"x4"x8' board.
One of boss lady's old tack trunks is going to a young girl. Iwas originally looking at replacing some of the well beaten trim boards, and make sure that the hinge doesn't rip out.
I started looking at this thing, and the more I looked, the worse this trunk looks.

7-8-W irons to bend into a 6° gap set and a 21° #7 wood to complete the setup:
57° and 51° wedges - 45°, 39° and 33° irons, 27° hybrid, 21° wood, 14° Thriver and putter.

Since I'm out of town, it's mandatory that I check out the local PIAS. Snagged a clean set of i3 o-Size PING irons, 6-W.
