I like the 565MC better than the 560MC from a looks standpoint. Cleaner and simpler. This kind of look is what gets me drooling.....

Eye candy indeed! Those were so popular that I have had trouble finding a set that wasn't chattered up and browned out. You find a clean set?

Yep, No browning and very little play!

That era of Hogan's were pretty, I remeber drooling over them at DSG and questioning how anybody could ever spend so much on clubs... How I wish I had bought just that amount now lol. They were an exceptional value club, even stock, especially for those days.

sweet looking heads... they resemble the very clean profile of my older Adams Idea Pro Forged that sadly I'll be using as a backup set this season... wedge is showing some nasty wear on the sweet spot... getting close with the 8 and 9 too... not so much with the 7 and up as apparently they don't have a sweet spot! 🙂 the heads i was referring to were the ones shown at the top of this thread... not the hogans... had those for awhile and while they were a great look they didn't like the balls I was using

Put my order in for a set of Sterling SL heads 5i-PW and 6 S2S Stepless shafts. Wishon says they will be available early March so hopefully it will only be few weeks until I have them 🙂

Definitely will post plenty of pictures and my thoughts on the club heads. I am really excited to give them a try!

      potbunker

Cheap graphite shafts, eh? 🙂 How cheap we talking? Email me the prices? And let's try to schedule a get together soon!!

candukid Gee sorry i asked. However if value golf can sell s perfectly good head for $10 and make money then if I understsnd whst tom is selling for, I think he has a much higher profit margin. I would buy some pings before I would pay that.

Indeed. Knowing TW's prices, I balk a bit at building a set for myself, let alone selling to a customer for a profit. The custom fitting and product quality sales pitch has to be effective for those that are trying to make a profit. The OEMs have not helped TW's business at all by flooding new old stock at low prices. I don't see how any of the component guys are making any money.

Received an email from Wishon that my heads will not arrive until sometime in May or June because they have received so many orders. LOL this is painful. Like a kid being told Christmas will be delayed 8-12 weeks. Knowing my luck they will arrive while I am in Amsterdam.

Ahem..... interesting post from Tom about pricing:

Very sorry for the confusion on this. In all honesty I haven't even thought about that policy for a very long time. not to throw anyone under the bus, but that was Matt's insistence on that policy when he was with the company as our sales manager. Since he left, it just hasn't been brought up and I honestly haven't even thought about it.

Tell you what. Since I never really saw the benefit to not publishing prices but agreed to it because I respected Matt's business sense when he was here, let's just toss that policy out the window. I don't say this here just because Jaacob is launching a site selling the Sterling single length. I say this because I just can't think of a good reason by myself to not publish prices. I do remember Matt was concerned that some would low ball the pricing and trigger a too low of a price thing. But I'll trust everyone to use their heads on this and if it helps you to publish prices, by all means do it. And I apologize completely for being out of touch on this.

It's hard out here for a pimp.

Man - that is an interesting response. Now if a member here is in the business of selling custom fitted Wishon clubs, his personal cost is out there in the wind to all of his customers........and consequently his markup. Good on Tom, I guess, but I thought he would want to 'protect' his custom fitter clientele. I have been respecting Matt's wishes........until now.

I'm not sure if that goes for head prices or built prices or both, but it's interesting it was Mohi's idea and not Tom's.

              pdxhak

That stinks, but not surprising as they are beautiful looking clubs, well thought out with the different face constructions, feeding off the Dechambeau popularity and sharing product with his business partner in Europe.

I would consider the Sterlings as a longer term project to get the correct loft gaps.

Maybe next year for the SL as I hope to give some 771's a trial this week.

Why not publish the price? What is the big secret? You can control your retailers and Distributors, if they sell on the Internet, quite easily as a matter of fact.

People want to see the pricing...pricing is and shouldn't be for exclusive eyes anyway!

Getting carried away on that particular subject? Tom posted the correct thought as well as Value Golf. Worry about moving product NOT about something as silly as that!
