Good for Matt Kuchar. His reputation will rebound quickly IMO. The only thing he did wrong was waiting so long. Any crisis management consultant would've told him to do what he did right away to make this story go away. He was getting heckled yesterday.
This is anecdotal. My brother in law was in town and we went out to dinner last night. He knows very little about golf, but knows I play and saw this story on mainstream media and asked me about it. He thought Kuchar's earnings were $1.2 million a year for example. He thought this story made Kuchar look really bad.
I do think Kuchar's reputation will recover quickly because he had a good reputation to begin with. Unlike Sergio Garcia who had a reputation as a punk and it took him a long time to rehabilitate his image and then threw it all away with his punkish behavior recently.
