azgreg sdandrea1 Yeah, but it's a dry heat Actually monsoon season is about to hit and the humidity is beginning to rise.
Bravopilot In Ft Worth, TX for work, 107 yesterday and today cooler at 106. Humidity was low though. Luckily the engineer types don't wear typical business clothes at the plant.
KCee It's only 82 here right now, but apparently it will feel like 101. I just took the dog out again and with the +80% humidity it does feel like you're walking into a sauna.
johnnydoom Got a pair of 97 degree days coming, and then a pair of 80 something degree days forecast before returning to low 90's. We still have a lot of summer ahead of us in Mississippi, but it's been slightly cooler than normal so far. I haven't been able to enjoy much of it outdoors due to work and family, but it looks like the folks out west are absorbing most of the sizzle before it gets here.
Par4QC Been a great, strange summer weather scene, so far, but.......hellsacomin...... Current local forecasts are showing in the low 100's just a couple hours West, early next week, so that chart may get updated later.
d5n03 Par4QC It looks like Des Moines is forecasted to hit 100+ next Wednesday. I’m getting acclimated for it by spending this week in the Phoenix area. BTW, RAGBRAI is to go from Ames to Des Moines next Wednesday. They are expecting 75,000+ bicyclists riding that day.
DonM I play in a Monday Wednesday Friday group here that has a roster of 70 some names. Tee times are around 11 AM even in the summer. The most we can play on any day is 7 foursomes. Today they could only generate one foursome. One of those 4 guys playing today about 90. I guess he's used to the heat.
Par4QC Mattyv Funny thought/question.....how many of your neighbors are grilling/smoking this week? 😲
Mattyv Par4QC I grilled a couple of T-Bones last night around 6:30. Sun was down enough and I was in and out of the pool. It wasn't a great experience.
Weirfan azgreg But its a dry heat 😉 Hopefully cools down a bit for our 36 holes a day for a week at Desert Storm
Mattyv azgreg It was also the 1st day of school for a bunch if districts. My wife had her 1st day with 21 Kindergarteners. She has to stand outside with them at dismissal time to hand them off to parents at 3pm for 20 minutes. She was exhausted when she got home. I am also going to write my congressman and request a law making it illegal to do yard work in July and August. No one is outside looking at your yard during those months anyway. We are up to 18 heat related deaths so far this summer.
mulegolf azgreg I think that I'll take our -20° January days over your 110° to 120° summer days. I can always put on a sweater under my jacket to get warmer. You can only take off so much to get cooler but if you go to far you'll burn and get skin cancer, not to mention arrested. We don't have very many -20° days here either, maybe 2 or 3 each winter. Looks like you get a lot of high 90° to 100°+ days in the summer. I guess what we need to do is live down there in the winter and up here in the summer.
