Sneakylong You were saying that disease and crime were only scare tactics and I simply stated the facts. You mention how legal immigrants come on planes and that "brown skins"are discriminated against. The US admits about one million immigrants per year. The number one country in number of immigrants is Mexico. More than China or India or any European nation. Just some facts.

This wasn't intended to be political. It was about stalking and threatening someone at their home.

I'm glad people like Stephen Colbert recognize it:

I asked if Canadians cared about what Americans think because they don't and shouldn't nor should we care what Canadians think of us in a sense. I only mean I don't live my life hoping Candadians approve. I probably belong in Canada. I love it up there. Find Canadians different and "better" than Americans. Nicer people.

    Toulon Nicer people.

I've found it to be the same also, although there are still large portions of the U.S. where the people are similarly nice. Whereas I generally don't like the large urban areas in the U.S., I feel right at home in the heart of Mississauga.

So, you obviously haven't met Spuzz? ☺

candukid Fox is considered an opinion network. Not real news.

"Is considered?" By that, do you mean you consider it so and just don't have the balls to say it? How about if I say CBS, NBC and ABC are considered to be the nattering nabobs of liberalism?

Many Canadians care what happens in the USA because we are so closely tied to your Country , not only geographically but in terms of commerce , trade etc. We travel to the US for business or pleasure have friends who work there, live there . You are the dog and often we are the proverbial tail.

I agree that Canadians are nice people, but so are American. I've traveled to the US well over 100 x and have dozens and dozens of US friends , just hooked up for golf with DC300 this week, and they are all equally nice people.
Canada does find itself up on all the lists of friendliest people in the world, we are certainly that.We are also perhaps the most polite nation on the planet. This statement describes us well "Canadians are so polite, in fact, that if they bump into a tree, they’ll apologize. "

The US has 10x the population of Canada, more people means more bad guys , perhaps not as a %age, but in sheer numbers. More bad guys means more negative news stories ( do we ever hear much in the way of good news stories?)

Different histories with different backgrounds and perspectives that shape opinions.
We don't have to like or dislike a happening or political figure to like a country and I Love the USA and my friends there and always will.

      Rickochet

Go o 45 seconds into the video and Smith basically says what I said.

Here's a shorter clip with the text of what he said.

Like I said he's one of the few over at Bull Shit Mountain (aka Faux News) who isn't a sycophant to this crime boss president and tells the truth.

        Tinker

More like a shotgun if they come trying to bash his door in as they did. Some asshole's going to get hurt and then they're going to blame the people being terrorized. There's just no excuse for that stuff.

Here's what I take from this thread:
        1. You can easily tell the Blues from the Reds
        2. CNN and Fox both put their own self-serving spin on the news to serve their viewers
        3. Politics has become very racist, not from skin color or national origin, but from political affiliations
        4. Whatever happened to being Americans first?
        5. I'm glad I'm an independent voter, vote the person ,not the party.

          Sneakylong

Exactly what shouldn't be happening in this thread. Thanks, Sneak.

Sure glad I tuned in today - NOT!

Bigborgel vote the person ,not the party.

Yay. You get to vote for a person happy to align themselves with a party that is willing to make up lies and destroy a judge’s good reputation in order to prevent his appointment, and reviews voter roles after the election so they can “find” more ballets two days later and change the results; or a person happy to align themselves with a party that routinely promises voters one thing while collecting tons of money to do something different for their donors; or someone not aligned with either that has almost no chance to win. Please forgive my cynicism. I’m independent also, but I don’t find much comfort in it.

We wish our political system worked that way, but unfortunately at the current time it does not. Politics is all about who holds the power and how it yields that power. Democrats caucus (meet) with Democrats and Republicans caucus with Republicans.

The majority holding the power decides what gets to the floor for a vote and in the current political climate compromising is a four letter word. It happens on some legislation like we recently saw with the opioid bill. But because we are so divided on many issues any compromise bill on important things can't get done.

Our political system is broken. We are so polarized that I don't see it getting better anytime soon. The fact is there aren't any giants in Washington anymore the likes of a Tip O'Neil and Ronald Reagan who compromised and got things done, but that was over 30 years ago. And the last giant of compromise (working with the other side) John McCain recently died.

While I admire your attitude toward voting the 'person' and not the party, in reality divisiveness rules the day. We'll see. The Republicans proved that they're much better being a minority party in opposition than a governing party where they held all the power in Washington and in reality didn't get much done.

So, with the return of divided government maybe the art of compromising will return. Don't hold your breath though.

Well-stated Sneaky. Sorry, that I'm letting you blow in the wind with a bunch of these fellas. I've just decided some aren't worth the bother. Some however - a select few - can and do engage in some form of discussion. Best of luck with that. Oh, this wasn't a political post. Toulon "frames" our world for us. LMAO

It wasn't a political post. It's a "don't do that" post echoed by known other side of the aisle Stephen Colbert. It's a human decency and legal issue.

You're free to frame this however you like doesn't make what I did the way you see it. I know why I posted it. You do not. Shocking that this could happen. As I mentioned, I have more reason to do this to a sex offender living a few doors down than they did to HIS FAMILY.

                Toulon

Why don't I see a 'don't do this' type post regarding the demagoguing, bulling, insulting, divisiveness, lying, inciting violence, xenophobic, racist, misogynistic con artist in the Whitehouse?

After all shouldn't we expect our presidents to set the tone? And if that tone is what I described above then shouldn't we expect a reaction similar in tone? Seems what goes around comes around.

And if Carlson and the others at Faux News are doing their best to be a conduit for this presidents idiotic demagoguery etc., then when you sling mud expect mud to be slung back.
