colej For me most wishons (not counting the wishon 979) feel much firmer at impact. Maybe a difference in VCOG between wishon and Maltby?
I can't say I noticed that until you mentioned it, but I always did think Maltby cast irons generally had a softer feel than many other mfrs cast heads. Didn't know if it was design (cavity) or heat treatment.
Maltby did seem to go for a lower VCoG as that seemed to take priority for their MPF. I felt like the last 10 years they have made more iron designs just as forgiving without a super high MPF #. Maybe Britt was freed up from MPF constraints?
