garyt1957 That, and the changes are probably imperceptible to the naked eye. But still important.
I've improved a good bit over the past few years. When it comes to moving from hacking to becoming a good, consistent player, I think the thing that matters the most is to tighten up the awareness of one's swing. The more you can sense the club and what it's doing, the better you are going to play, no matter what swing you use.
How to become more aware, that's the 64 million dollar question. I did it, but I'm not sure how. I guess it was just a long term habit of swinging in front of a mirror, then playing, then thinking about what went wrong, then back to the mirror and see if the idea was true, and over and over until I was able to become much more aware on the course. That was not the plan, but that's what happened. If you took a video of me today, I don't think I would be at all surprised by anything I would see. I think for most players, it's the exact opposite.
I'm still only a 9.4 index, don't get me wrong. But my swing is the best part of my game, and the scoring game is the worst part. That's the next big thing for me.
So, try to become aware of what's going on in your swing.
