Shot a 77 yesterday with a bogey, triple start. Shot a 41 on the front with one birdie and shot par (36) on the back with 3 birdies. Shot a 78 last Friday also.
What's worked for me for several months has been to set up with my right arm / elbow externally rotated (giving blood position). Most hackers set up with the right arm internally rotated and this is a recipe for miss hitting the golf ball.
Another important thing for me is to keep my head still especially with the irons. This is a must if you are an early releaser. You cannot move off the ball in the backswing (fat city).
With the driver my biggest fault is being too quick in transition. My mantra with the driver is 'wait on it'. These three keys (right arm externally rotated at address, keeping head still and don't rush the downswing) are key for me.
My ball striking is the best in years. My handicap has dropped to a 9.4. I might be tempting the golf gods by saying this, but these epiphanies have been working for me for months where most keys are fleeting. I still look at YouTube golf videos, but more for entertainment than looking for help with my swing.
