Since, there seems some interest in non-traditional methods of the golf swing. Here are 3 that I have tried or used. There are more but these three I feel...

So I've been continuing to work with the Triangulaid, Easiest Swing, Zen Golf, type of swing where everything is loosey goosey and there's no thought of positions, planes, etc. Seems to be working really well, especially with driver and any teed up ball. Irons are still a work in progress but FW's off the turf are no problem.
Last two rounds I hit 5 drives of 250-255. I haven't hit 5 drives that long in the last three years. A few others in the 240's. I'm also using a bit of Monte Scheinblum's "No turn cast swing". So far so good. But I've had plenty of "Eureka" moments that only lasted a round or two so we'll see going forward.

Nicklaus Foot Action. This is NOT modern PGA torque and resistance IMO.

I have watched some of those Zen golf videos and I like them. Makes me wish I had those board things that he puts under the guys' feet. I like that other than the foot action, he doesn't talk about positions or anything like that at all.

I made a foot board like Marcus's takes awhile to get the hang of it. I am working on #2 foot board iteration. Agree on your > rsvman2

IMO that's what golfers struggle with too worried about hand, arm positions and keeping club on plane. Golfers that do that are mostly hand and arm swingers and don't have any lower body foot action.

Noted reverse C position player. I believe that's where back and hip problems can start.

Gary Player no issues and shifted all weight to left side front foot no reverse C.

There is a never ending list of pro golfers physical aliments that have in some cases shortened their careers.
It is more interesting to look at the swings of those who had long careers and very few issues.

Did it though? Play enough years at the level these guys do and hit as many balls and things are likely to break down. Tom Watson has had both hips replaced. None of us will hit as many balls in 10 years as some of those guys do in one.

OK, here's my swing. Well, it's today's version. I'm trying to get more upright like Bryson instead of a little flatter like Moe. The flatter swing has been a failure for irons and hybrids. Here I'm using an upright iron. This particular swing was pretty short in the backswing. I'm usually going back little longer but not much. It's very much arms-dominated. I'd like to use my body more but it's hard to break the old habit.

I had been messing around making some JV swings and it occurred to me that this swing here is a lot like a JV swing except it's square. Am I kidding myself about that?

Agreed and look how he lifts his left heel with a mid-iron. Even more so with a driver. How many modern PGA tour players lift their left heel today? Maybe 1 to 3. Noted is Francesco Molinari. I can't think of any others.

Good point Dan. I don't watch most of the younger set. Not a fan of bomb and gouge. But I believe most would agree modern game is built on torque and resistance.

Exactly that's my point. Think of all the old timers the greats. Bobby Jones, Hogan, Snead, Palmer, Player, Nicklaus all lifted their left heel. They did the turn-turn move with less stress on their bodies. They also used great hand action but it wasn't the end of all of their games.

Stillness is the key to Venetos. Stillness is a hard factor to do when you haven't ever played that way in the past. It's the one key that most try it and give up.

I've had the opposite experience. I can do his swing pretty well with no prior practice. I guess it's because I'm pretty still in my regular swing. I'm just not sure I want to use his swing.

Exactly! Stillness is THE thought going through my mind on the backswing, until I get to the top of
my swing. When I forget or neglect that thought, I don't hit the ball very solidly either...
