Since, there seems some interest in non-traditional methods of the golf swing. Here are 3 that I have tried or used. There are more but these three I feel...

garyt1957 From the camera perspective, the Ballard swing looked like a pull fade. But the RSS swing looked nicely on path, and with good weight transfer.

sdandrea1 I think I can see why shafts don't matter that much to you. You're probably not placing much load on them in transition. It's a smooth swing and it works, so there you go.

2 piece distance balls spinny? I think of premium urethane as spinny and I know Steve doesn't use them. 😉

I do try to keep the hands quiet and swing with my body. I rely on straight over distance so yes there is not much wrist cock, lag, release. Lighter graphite shafts feel a lot better for me if I can time my downswing right.

I use 2 piece soft core balls, not the spinny expensive ones. 😊

scotts33 BTW IMO those trying to learn any non-traditional swing need actual lessons and this would be one way to go. IMO it's why most of us fail to grasp certain concepts on any non-traditional swing and eventually go away from what we decided to try.

I tend to agree, you get to a point where you need actual eyes on your swing to get past a certain point. You can't be sure you're doing what you think you're doing.

Most golfers with below 90 mph driver SS need more spin and loft for better carry so Steve is attacking this correctly IMO and I fall into the same category. There are actually more rec golfers that are using the wrong equipment specs. including ball than the correct equipment. Case in point have fitted 3 golfers last week from 48 to 56 years old.....all have driver SS lower than 90 with early to medium release and various tempos. All were playing urethane and shaft flexes that don't "fit" them correctly. That's the norm not the outlier. Just sayin'. 😉

I'm just trying to get the ball into the cup in the fewest strokes possible. I try to keep my swing and course mgmnt simple. I still don't like looking at my swing, but my scorecard gets me over it. Proud of my 10.2 handicap!

We're in the same ballpark, Steve......In fact, I shot my best round in two years today (75!) to bring my hcp. down
to 10.3 on an online handicap website. (Sorry for the threadjack for my shameless boast, but had to tell someone
besides Mrs. Fatshot!!) In fact, I came within two shots of shooting my age!

Who really cares what the swing looks like. I played with a guy once who made Wolff's swing
look like grace personified and he rarely shot over par. He told me " I don't have to look at it -
you do !! Solid hit is a solid hit. As you said - ball in the cup.

I have always thought a person that usually breaks 90 was better than average but a 12.0 - 12.9 is about the average golfer that maintains a handicap according to the USGA.

I'd actually love to have a really weird swing IF I had the game to go with it. I think it would be fun to play with people and they're jaw drops when you swing and then you throw a 79 at them.

Short Game!!! I chipped and putted better than I have all season. Got up and down 7 out of 10 times, and
took only 28 putts! I just put my old Odyssey Rossie II back in the bag, and I've putted much better for the last 3 weeks since it's back in there!! Driver....? Meh. Fairway woods....? The same. From the 5 hybrid on down, I hit it pretty well. I also decided to stick with the Jim Venetos swing instead of running off in new directions.....
