Iomic Grips~What's the Fuss About
- Edited
I have an ionic grip, not a sticky, sort of forget what it is, on a Cally x forged wedge I bought. I really liked the feel and thought about doing all my clubs with them. I liked the fact that they were like Tour Velvet and some cool colors.
BUT...
The price!!! So, like Steve, I stick to Tour Velvet. They came out in Plus 4 now and I’m surprised they have not jumped on the color bandwagon like they have on their multi compound grips.
I use the Tacki Mac Itomic grips on my drivers and they are the stickiest, least slippery when wet and longest lasting I have ever used.
I do not like them anything else though, especially irons. Too sticky and maybe a bit thick too.
It's a status thing. Sort of like JDM and PXG.
I don't really buy the cost thing now with a lot of major brand grips GP, Winn, etc all in that price range of $9+.
Overall taking in price and variety Royal grips sold by Golfworks are hard to beat
DonM I could get my money's worth out of a $12 grip. But if a person is constantly selling clubs, that could be different.
Agreed Don. My own clubs I generally use PURE, Star, Iomic. I tested these Iomic's as I had never used them before and wasn't impressed originally. Now after 2 years and using this set of Alpha RX-1's/KBS Tour's I think they are a great grip especially in summer with midwest higher heat and large amounts of humidity. I see their performance as very good. Especially for me a non-glove golfer.

Lamkin made a grip in conjunction with Iomic.....iline if I remember correctly. Might be some floating around. A grip that I love that is tacky with a velvet pattern were the crossline ace 3gen......should have bought a case of the OS when they were on sale! Gotta clean em and they stay good and tacky!
Never cared much about grips . So long as it's the right size I'm good to go .
Have these on my Kenny Smith irons in my bag now. Got to be at least 10 years old. They feel so good and tacky I’m afraid to change them
