PA-PLAYA I think that Tiger being picked to play on the Ryder Cup team will be dependent upon his showing this week at the PGA Championship. A good showing and Furyk will pick him; a poor showing and he will be a Co-Captain/advisor to the Team, which he is now.

Hot sauce makes everything taste much better.

Except ice cream. That's where I draw the line.

professor I'm only half the asshole I am on the internet. Ask my adult children who know me longer and better. They'll tell you I'm only 25% the asshole I am on here (and that in most of those cases, they deserved it.) LOL

That's pretty good. I'm actually twice the asshole I am on the internet. You guys get the nice Steve. 😙

You make a very good point. I have only met in person, 2 FGI guys, subsonic and livegolf. I think they're really the only 2 guys who know me.

PA-PLAYA If you get a chance, try some pepper jelly on chocolate ice cream. Delicious.

johnnydoom It's certainly not easy, but I would pick Tiger, Phil, DeChambeau, and Schaufelle. Tiger and Phil for being two all-time greats that can still complete, DeChambeau and Schaufelle due to the position they currently hold. I would not be happy to have to pick DeChambeau right now, but would do it because of where he's at.

you cant take both Tiger and Phil , IMO. Tiger seems to be playing better than Phil, but by all accounts Phil is unequivocally the best leader off the course and for that reason you have to take him IMO. History has shown that Tiger is difficult to pair up with a partner and so that handcuffs the captain somewhat, although neither Tiger or Phil would probably play much. You want Tiger/Phil to play with a rookie and the Tiger effect could be too distracting for a first timer with so much additional pressure to him.

I want Zach Johnson as the first pick. I also would take Bryson DeChambeau , he's proven in match play and is strong player. My third pick is Finau, firepower and has been top 10 in all 3 majors this year ( only player to do so) .....he's a bomber and can make birdies,,,,,,as we saw today 10 birdies in the 2nd round at the PGA.

I round it out with Phil for the intangibles, leadership and he can still play with anyone....but would take a hard consider on Xander Schaufelle . Ideally Tiger hangs around and helps

Weirfan Bryson is not a good putter, I suspect with missing the cut this week, he'll have to step it up to get picked!

Weirfan I’m inclined to think the opposite if you can only pick one it has to be Tiger, assuming one or the other doesn’t land an automatic pick. If both are playing well you shouldn’t bypass the 2nd greatest record in the history of the game for someone of great, but considerably less accomplishment. However, I think both are absolute picks even though Phil missed the cut this week. I know there is still more time, but based upon the first two rounds of the PGA I’d now go with Schauffele, Johnson, Mickelson and Woods.

ode Bryson is not a good putter, I suspect with missing the cut this week, he'll have to step it up to get picked!

he missed by 1 stroke...so did Sergio.....Bubba and Paul Casey missed by 8 strokes and will both be on the team....

Bryson is streaky, but so can be every player...if not Bryson then Xander

history is history, why not take Jack then 😉

If they base it on current play Tiger would get the nod over Phil. I personally don't think you take both because they are players who are likely only going to play singles and one other game. I only take one old guy and I think Phil adds more to the team and is a motivator and good with the young guys...Tiger as I said earlier has always had trouble being paired with an appropriate partner.....this creates problems. In the past, they had to take him as he was the best out there....now he's just one of a number of good golfers to choose from

I just looked it up on the internet. It looks interesting to say the least, but I'm more of a root bear soda /orange cream soda float guy with Breyer's homemade vanilla ice cream.

Now I did try something different while we were at one the the ports-of-call on our cruise back in February. I think we were in one of the touristy areas in Costa Maya. I tried some authentic dark chocolate lightly infused with mild red pepper. I bought it by mistake, was simply wanting regular dark chocolate, picked the wrong one. On the hike back to the cruise ship that evening I opened it up and realized I'd bought the wrong one. But tried it... I was pleasantly surprised.

I started thinking yesterday that this very well might be both Tiger and Phil's last Ryder Cup opportunity as players. I think there's a good chance that Furyk will pick both for sentimental reasons.

If my gut feeling is accurate, then those two remaining spots weigh heavily on how Bryson, Kisner, Finau and Schauffele play over the next 3 events... some could make an argument for Zach Johnson or Kuchar, and if either of those two guys win between now and then - they elevate their stock significantly.

Not an easy decision for Furyk.

Weirfan Jack didn’t have the lead during the final round of the 2018 British Open or play his way into contention during the 2018 PGA Championship- but if he did i’d take him.😀 I agree in principle, but Tiger is playing too good to ignore. Perhaps Tiger will take himself out and and say he’s content as co-captain for health reasons, but absent that I think Furyk would be nuts if he didn’t make him a pick.

Weirfan relevant in that he had a 5 foot putt to make the cut and he missed. He didn't have a poutfest afterwards, so at least the purists can't bag on him. I hope he makes the tram, but I just don't know that Furyk will take him.

I think Furyk has to take Tiger over Phil,Tiger is trending upwards currently and Phil not so much.
Plus Tiger is a better putter under pressure and some of the young guys probably really want to
have the chance to be paired with Woods.
Also need to have Tony Finau on the team, the dude's a birdie machine which is what you need in match play.

.....if Tiger could hit a fairway.....................

PA-PLAYA Looked it up on the internet? LOL. I thought I invented it. But after you said this, I googled it only to find that I'm not the only one who does this.

I was also going to recommend spicy dark chocolate. I love it. The first time I tried it I was driving. That wasn't a good idea because the ecstasy of the combination of flavors almost made me wreck my car. It is seriously amazing.

                  Ok, as of this morning

                  9 - Bryson
                  10- Phil
                  11- Tiger
                  12- Xander

I like Kisner over Bryson. Great putters do well in the Ryder.

I'd take Tiger,Finau,Kisner and Kucher or Zach Johnson to round out the final 4.

Disco Phil is just not trending in the right direction lately.
Let him be a co-captain,and get him ready for when he'll be the next Ryder Cup captain.
