Not like me to pimp an article on another site, but this one deserves a special exemption: http://www.mygolfspy.com/series-an-insiders-look-at-modern-golf-club-design-part-2/. I don't know how the OEM's coaxed ole Bob out of the bottle to write this crap (unless they offered to by him a new bottle) but the whole thing offends me and when you read it you'll know why. Some snarky asshole named mcavoy took the time to comment to him. Hopefully you will too.

Very interesting article Mac.

For those who are not familiar, Bob Renegar was involved with the Solus Wedge.

I personally have been playing 52 and 56 Renagar wedges for the last 3 years and find them to be one of the best wedges that I have ever played.

That being said ... I find this article to be a lame effort by the writer to deflect the perhaps impending failure of his named company to those companies that are not OEM. And by doing such I feel that he doesn't understand that he is a start-up company and is cutting his own throat.

I have no doubt the Renegar wedges are good clubs. But the insinuation that engineering prowess or innovation or even the ability to produce a quality design lies solely with the OEM's is insulting. Bob Renegar comes across as a shill for the big OEM's. Tom Wishon, simply through his responses to questions posed on his site, has done more to help golfers than all the marketing tripe produced by TM, Cally, et al throughout history.

LOL. I'm not the only one who was offended by that post. Summit made his own comment!

    Love that guy.

Read the entire thread. Tell me....what did you not agree with?

Good subject matter...let's have a serious discussion on this!

Won't be back until Monday...maybe tomorrow....but, fire away guys.

One thing I disagree with is the MGS guy said they've never recommended a lower tier company's product, yet I'm sure the Powerbuilt Air Force One got a very high ranking and may have actually finished first in the rankings that year. Powerbuilt hasn't been a tier one company in 30 years, more like a KMart company.
