All part of a diabolical plot to add two more rounds of wear and tear to the old man’s back.

As a pro athlete I guess it's the attitude he has to have, but I find it kind of funny that he says he needs to shoot low/mid 60's in the next two rounds to have a chance to win. He has no chance to win. Just say you hope to improve over the next two rounds and leave it at that. You're not classic Tiger anymore where you're never out of a tournament, in fact you're not very often even in a tournament.

garyt1957 Eh, I'd have said something similar. "If I can shoot back to back 59s I think I have a chance."

Well he is off to a good start today -4 thru 6!😎

His new cliche should be "if I can score lower than the rest of the field, I could take the trophy home. Trust the process".

Think about it. What is he supposed to say? I have no chance but I have to be here the next two days to get a check. He is near the top ten.

Hopefully TW can hang on for a few years.....he still moves the needle, and as it turns out, can still play a little. What's missing is put(t)ing together 4 rds.....not just 1, 2, or 3. Me thinks there is still a legit story to be told/inked about Mr. Woods. And golf, what a sport...the 40+ers can still bring it up against the young pukes. TW, Phil, etc. Hell, look at Steve Stricker...these guys are all a big reason why I still tune in.

Tiger didn't exactly have an awful week. Finished T-11th with an even-par start in his opening round. Despite the double bogey on the 17th Sunday - his stock is still trending upward.

Not suggesting that he's in major championship form, but considering where he was a year ago - maybe he has a little left in the tank. Enough to make it interesting, at least.

He's obviously executing better than he has been in the past few years, but he still has to be playing well enough, putting well enough, to win against the younger players. Same goes for Phil for that matter....

It's not gonna be easy for him, providing that he's playing well even... but he's in a much better place competitively than where he was just a few years ago.

If he can win another major - it would be an enormous achievement.

I still feel comfortable in assuming that Nicklaus's standard of 18 majors will not be in jeopardy. Not by a long shot.
