He wasn't given a choice. According to Reed, all Nike-sponsored apparel players were required to either wear a pink polo shirt or a grayish black polo. Except, of course, Tiger, who is obviously (and rightfully) allowed to wear whatever he chose. I seem to recall a red polo worn by Tiger on Sunday that was covered with a black golf vest.
Tiger made Nike. He should be, at the very least, granted to wear whatever he wants.
And I have no issues with that whatsoever. If one is accepting endorsement money from a company that is paying him to display their brand however they wish, the player is contractually bound to wear whatever they deem fitting. They also reserve the right to wear whatever they want, which might, perhaps, infringe upon their contractural agreements and render that contract null and void.
A total non story imo, other than to suggest that Nike wants to preserve Tiger's legacy of him alone wearing red and black during a major Sunday.
Given the results, I'd be more than willing to change my polo color to pink, if I were Patrick Reed anyway.
