First rough up the inside of the ferrule with some sand paper rolled up.then apply a dab of epoxy
on the inside, this will prevent any ferrule creep later on.
Slide the ferrule on the abraded shaft far enough that you can get the shaft to fit down inside the clubhead.
Coat the inside of the hosel and the outside of the shaft tip,try to avoid putting any glue inside the shaft.
Doesn't take a whole lot of epoxy.
Slide the head onto the shaft and rotate the head around the shaft at same time.
When you think the shaft is all the way in and seated, tap the butt end of the shaft on the floor
a couple times to make sure you're fully seated and the ferrule should be tight against the hosel now too.
When gluing you'll probably get some excess epoxy leaking out around the ferrule,
this can be cleaned off with a damp paper towel dipped in alcohol while epoxy is still WET.
Clean the shaft, head, ferrule, fingers NOW,saves on a lot of work later before the epoxy sets.
If you don't have one, invest in a cheap shaft clamp you can put in a vise....makes the whole job easier.
When the epoxy is fully cured (should be by the next day and ch. your dried mix to make sure),
if you're turning/sizing the ferrule by hand, just wet a paper towel liberally in acetone.
Wear some latex gloves, fold the wet towel so it's like a long strip or belt.
While hopefully you have the shaft in a clamp by now, just take the wet paper towel wrapped around the ferrule
and pull back and forth with towel till the wide end of the ferrule is flush with the end of the hosel.
To get the ferrule nice and shiny just use a little more acetone.
