Play whatever tee suits your game. As long as you don't slow down play by playing a tee that is too far for your game, that's all that matters.
The tips at my course are over 7100 yards. They take them up except for tournament qualifiers etc.. Too many guys would play those that have no business there if they left them down on a daily basis. The next tee up is over 6800 yards, then 6400 plus then 6000 plus, 5600 plus and 4800 plus.
I'm a 6000 yard player. The longest par 4 is 438 which is too long for a senior tee IMO. But we have shorter par 3's (longest being 162) and on some days use every club in my bag. Shot an 81 yesterday, 86 on Monday, but recently had a nice little run in the 70's.
