No I'm not. Its a nice story but wont be considered the greatest comeback of all time. Media has nothing to do with it outside of younger, less knowledgeable Tiger fans who dont know better sharing their opinion. Fans in their 20's and 30's have been brainwashed about Tiger and in so doing they consistently display some irrational opinions. Thats ok, they just werent around and so have not the same experience and exposure. Im generalizing of course, im sure there are some exceptions. A great quote I read by a respected writer said . "Tiger fans are not usually golf fans."
Ben Hogan's story will forever be the greatest comeback story in golf, it near the tops of every comback story list .
Off the top of my head a few others that are incredible stories that would surpass Tiger's
Niki Lauda
Rocky Bleier
Mario Lemieux
Theres a female surfer who was badly injured in a shark attack, but returned to the sport.
im sure there are others. Heck I think Jarrod Lyle is one hell of a comback story and the fellow , forget his name who had heart transplant surgery. These 2 are greater comebacks than Tiger , IMO
