raggmann54 My bad wording, my comment was not directed specifically at you, more at society in general. 2nd amendment, blah, blah. I am a gun owner also, including an AR-15. Reasonable controls to try and keep things like this from happening should not be fought under the guise of "OBUMMER'S COMIN TUH TAKE MUH GUNS!!!". The slippery slope argument just doesn't hold water. Yes, there was a failure to protect those kids. It appears there were enough indicators to initiate some kind of intervention in this situation. Who to do it? If the police departments there are anything like they are here, they are bare bones at best. Officers are retiring, and with a certain party going hard after public employees' pay, pension and benefits, they can't get many new recruits, if any at all. It can be a thankless job to begin with, let alone having your own lawmakers coming after your livelihood. The only mention of the "arrangement" you are talking about I can find, is some kind of obscure OP piece, proof away if you must.
