Cant speak from personal experience about the DB+, but the reports/reviews I read were that it was average at best. I doubt very much that it would come close to the original 455 DB or DCT for performance. The fact that the DB+ was drastically reduced in price then disapeared quickly with nary a whimper would lead one to speculate it wasnt anything special.

are you talking about that Callaway FT driver you loved, TMAG stuff, or OEMs in general?

I tried the 455 3 times and Encore once, just didn't get either one. I loved my DCT and still have the 1st one I bought from Steve. I took it out last year and could not hit it. I think it's pissed at me. I traded it away a couple yrs ago and traded for it back. Haven't been able to hit it since. No clue.

Funny how that goes. Ive tried to go back to the original 455 3x ( 2x10 and 1x9) since parting with my 9* some 7 years ago. I tried them with shafts that i was succesful with before ( vs 339 and others) and new ones and could not find anything that worked. I had a 10.5 DCT head here that i built for a friend who has gone Oem and that head worked great , but I sold it.

There was only one version of my DB+ - It just won yet another Senior long drive championship last summer. Amazing after all these years. In my personal bag I have two drivers, the DB+ in a 10 degree and 46", Senior flex and my favorite Indio in 7 degree at 43.75" and stiff flex.

It was a very good seller, sold out three full shipments in rather short order until my focus went to fundraising.

Thanks for clarification Mike. The lure for finding that one driver head and shaft that will be a consistent fairway finder at a good trajectory and distance keeps me and my friends chasing rainbows.

we are discussing the DB+ here but sure unsuccessful OEM's do same. Best recent exmaple is the Callaway XR drivers which were super duds .

I still bag that Callaway FT3 draw with NVS R shaft in Scrambles. love how long that club goes But not so forgiving and the sound isnt my fav. had 2, sold the one.

hit it better than my friends G30, G, Cobras and whatever else they bring out. Dud? -

It really comes down to hitting the ball in the middle of the face. Pros hit the middle almost every time and they can fuss with launch angle and minute details. We need to find a driver that we can square up and hit center face and that’s the best driver. Best fitting tool, contact tape.

I mark a spot on the impact point of my golf balls during practice range or on the course with a dry marker white board pen. Leaves me the spot of impact clearly on the driver face. Its a little bit of a pain to tee the ball just so but not too much trouble . I've used talc powder on the club face too, but not quite as good as the dry markers. Smells nice though . Impact tape is nice like you suggest, I just keep forgetting to get it. My misses are usually low toe. I even dented the bottom of my Cleveland driver . How is that possible ?

I wish I could be LOL. My fourteen year old son has managed to do that with a couple of drivers I had laying about. Worse yet, he now likes the Mizuno that has been serving me well. Oh well, I have an Indio that I hit just as far, but on a lower trajectory - which only causes me problems on uphill holes.

I'd have cried if it'd help . Almost new club. I think that is why the shaft on my G15 broke too. Darn trifold glasses ! Nothing is where it seems to be, my excuse anyway .

Provisional Only driver I've tried lately with a bit of help for me was a M1 Tmag but it is not in the budget

I snagged a 2016 M2 head only on Ebay pretty cheap. It is currently #1 in da bag.

I don't look for more distance at my geezer swing speed, but certainly would change if the fairways hit improved significantly and I could find a bargin 12 degree tm head. I'd pull my Miyazaki from the Cleveland and buy an adapter. Same for the callaway gbb 13.5. I've not found a good cheapo, yet.

For me, it spins too much for my negative AOA,

I liked the look of the Indio and how it set up at address, but I never got sufficient distance with it. I have a neg AOA as well.

I had the same attitude with Almo at one point with Geek but got over it, but not due to price.
I still don't own any Geek stuff.
