  • ***Looking for putter shaft for pegged/over the top hosel (pic)***

Bought a putter head and it has a pegged hosel. Would like a smoked or black shaft, if possible, but not sure if I can find one that fits, it's .323" or 8.20mm. I checked with Jason @ Diamond Tour and he says the ID of their smoke shaft is only 7.36mm sooooo.....I wonder if his hand is as steady as mine is with digital calipers. πŸ˜‰

Any ideas? Iron shaft? Which one?

LBlack14 changed the title to ***Looking for putter shaft for pegged/over the top hosel (pic)*** .

I’m pretty sure I have some over the hosel putter shafts but I think they’re the TT TC2 heavy shaft.

What about a .355 tip shaft? Use like a 8 iron shaft I would think this would get you close enough.

If you can't sand the stem down enough use a stepless iron shaft. (Edited: See post #6) Just start trimming it off where the PTS ends until you get the id you need. Be sure to remove the inside flare if using a tubing cutter. Use shafting beads and let it cure with the club in the upright position. Depending on the length of the PTS you might need to extend the butt end with an old steel shaft but the joint will be under the grip.

Monark golf has a True Temper shaft called inner id control at 324 inner is. That should do the trick. About 10 bucks.

Regarding the color, no reason you can't paint a steel shaft. Just rough it up good with sanding cloth and use an automotive rattle can paint.

Landon, regarding my earlier post about using a stepless Iron shaft, it could have been a longer stepless putter shaft I nibbled down to get the proper ID. The shop I bought a post head from I think sold me an Apollo 40" or 50" stepless putter shaft that I had to trim about 4" or so off of the tip then butt trim to length. It's been too long for this geezer brain to remember. πŸ‘΄

You can use shrink wrap to get the shaft the color you want, easy peasy lemon squeezy

5/8" shrink tubing, same stuff that goes over stereo wires, etc. This is what I bought, black obviously, but you can get just about any color you want, and I suspect you could get at Lowe's, etc.-

Edit, see Rick's link below ⬇

Rickochet thx, LB would a been pissed when the 2" stuff didn't work too wellπŸ™‚

I went to the archives in eBay to find my purchase and it must have linked me to a "similar product"

          5/8" is correct size!

It's dirt cheap Landon so order extra in case you F up the first try. 😜

Weirfan now that would be an inappropriate logoπŸ˜‰

Weirfan To shrink wrap his willy black ?

I'll let Landon answer that one. 😜

Rickochet Although my geezer brain is similarly afflicted, I believe I did this once too. My recollection is a VERY stiff shaft, which can be good for a putter.
