The clubhouse here is like the 19th hole at a clubhouse at a golf course. You hear all sorts of discussions on a variety of subjects. Sensitive topics like religion and politics are included in those. The site owner can decide what topics are discussed. It's his site. However, what I'm a little concerned about is someone taking it upon themselves to decide what is and what isn't allowed. Basically self imposed content police.
The content of threads shouldn't be about each individuals level of outrage. I don't like this topic so I'll email the owner and shut it down. If you're so offended by the subject of a thread, who forced you to open and read what's in it?
I may open a thread and decide this is something I have no interest in and not go back to it. I may be offended by the length of a post. I don't email the owner and say hey this guy is clogging up the thread with war and peace types posts. I may be personally offended by lengthy posts. (sarcasm intended)😎 I just choose not to read them and move on.
Also, what happened to the option of having a thread where people who want to have a discussion in a closed type setting have the option to do so?
