I agree. Much prefer basketball for attending sporting events.
But... I also know that I'm willing to pay more for good seats. Probably more than many would be willing to fork over. I paid $500 for two tickets, that same year (1990) when the Bulls and Jordan came to play Dominique Wilkins and the Hawks. Jordan was my wife's all-time favorite NBA player and that's why I splurged on the tickets. We had only been married a few months, and I was trying to impress her. lol
Jon Koncak was the starting center for the Hawks at the time. I actually had better seats than his parents, who were sitting right behind us. (Jon's mother had to be 6 feet, 8 inches, big lady!) And we were sitting right next to Wes Mathews, (who played for the Lakers) who was there scouting for one of the teams at the time.
Jordan had a quiet night that night, scoring only something like 24 or so points. But the seats were great, and we enjoyed the experience very much.
Baseball is another sports event I enjoy attending. I love a good baseball game... totally different atmosphere. I actually enjoy going to the local farm league and watching them play (The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs). Great way to spend a summer night. 🙂
