The Eye2 - Still have the original set I purchased around 1989-90. I just purchased some taper tip graphite shafts in geezer flex to re-shaft them and bring out of moth balls for next season...
What Are Your Favorite Ping Irons?
- Edited
A few years back I had a set of Ping G irons as rentals and they were just so easy to hit. I think they are getting away from the Game improvement look with a thinner top line. I don’t know about the G400 but maybe they aren’t as forgiving as pings from a couple years ago. Trying to appeal to people with a thinner top line might take away forgiveness.

The Japan model says V2j in the cavity. Now I want to start looking... damm it!!!
There's a Japan Eye 2 model lurking out there as well. You can spot them by the serial number on the hosel. It wraps around the hosel horizontally instead of along the hosel. Got this intel from The PING rep when I found a SW in a PIAS store. They told me they were not cast any differently, just made for Japan distribution.

I'm gaming mine again with Matrix Ozik Red Tie 65g Lite flex graphites. I hand taper the parallel shaft to fit. What shafts did you get?
Found a nice set... damm it!!!! If the wife was spending so much money I’d pull the trigger.
Mine would be the I25 or IE1. Prefer the looks of the I25 but probably hit the IE1 marginally better.

My favs are the ones Ping haven't made yet.
Have only hit the g5 and i200. Meh. Ping=FUGLY
Is there a website anywhere that has all of the Ping iron specs and comparisons?
Eye2's were revolutionary, but seriously fugly. i5's were solid performers. G25 was stupid easy to hit....maybe should have kept that set. Every time I hit a buddy's G410's I think that I should steal them....he sucks so bad Ping should pay him not to play their clubs.
Ping i25s where my one and only, in play to date. I wonder if the i210s will ever get some play or if they will be gone before they get a chance?
