Watching Madame Secretary right now and it's pretty good. Not as good as West Wing in my opinion but I like it a lot.
What to watch on Netflix
sdandrea1 I watched it when it was originally on. Cancelled after one season. I felt it deserved another season. Father Chuck and Lexington were my two favorite characters

We're watching Counterpart as well. J. K. Simmons is awesome.
Forgive me if any of these have been posted already, as I've not taken the two hours needed to filter the posts in this thread!
Current series' I'm watching, across several streaming platforms.
Prime Video:
Bosch (LAPD detective drama series, based on author Michael Connelly's novels) starring Titus Welliver. Really good, with lots of twists and turns. Great acting and terrific storylines; the writers/producers have painstakingly dotted the i's and crossed the t's with attention to detail. Welliver plays the lead perfectly, and the supporting cast members give the series a deep and appreciative quality. I'm midway through the 6th season, so I'm pacing myself. The 7th and final season is tentatively scheduled for release sometime in April. By far, my favorite Amazon Prime original series thus far!
Another Prime series I just started - Goliath, starring Billy Bob Thornton. I'm only a couple of episodes into the first season, but it's been good enough so far to keep me moving forward to the next. Thornton plays a washed-up lawyer who's making a comeback, and has taken on a case that pits him against his old law firm that gave him the axe. Not a huge BBT fan, but he seems a proper fit for the role.
Netflix:
The Queens Gambit - midway through this short series. Since it's been reviewed by a few here in recent weeks I'll spare the novel. But it's interesting and well written. Acting is superb.
AppleTv:
Finished the first season of Ted Lasso a few weeks back. Although it's a farfetched storyline, Jason Sudeikis makes it humorously believable that an American football coach could perhaps find a second chapter in life with accepting an offer as a Premier League soccer coach in London. I really thought I'd get tired of it after a few episodes, but there's some variety and tugging-heart-strings moments that kept me reasonably entertained, at least enough to be looking to see when the second season is scheduled for release. The sitcom has been well received and although the 2nd season is currently in-production, AppleTv announced they've also officially made plans for a 3rd season to follow.
Tehran - a story about an Israeli Mossad agent attempting to disable a nuclear reactor in Iran. Although subtitles are needed, I've found it worth the effort. Lots of twists and turns, exceptional acting, and a credible storyline have kept me hooked.
Showtime:
Your Honor, starring Bryan Cranston. It's a 10-episode legal thriller, with Cranston playing the Honorable Judge Michael Desiato in New Orleans. I won't spoil it for those who might be interested, but I'm midway through the series and it's really good!
HBOMax:
The Flight Attendant - some might enjoy this, although honestly I found it to be more of a raunchy, mindless parody. There are some humorous bits here and there, but the storylines lack any real depth or continuity. And it's a shame really, because there's a lot of potential here for an obvious alcoholic flight attendant storyline that could definitely be exploited for a better quality series, but to me it seemed more like Leonardo DiCaprio's "Inception" on an acid trip.
I'm curious to hear if anyone else has watched this and happened to like it. Different, but definitely missed the mark for me.
Recent movie I've enjoyed:
Prime Video:
Dark Waters, starring Mark Ruffalo. Based on the documentary about Dupont Chemicals alleged coverup of dumping/burying toxic waste in Parkersburg, WV back in the 80's and 90's. Anyone who (like me) enjoys cooking with Teflon frying pans might be moved reconsider! Very compelling movie.
Bosch and Goliath are both TREMENDOUS.
Any fans of, "The Rook" here? Just a few episodes in and it's growing on me.
JeffTilley. Justified, Better Call Saul, Homeland.
Oh and if you have Showtime, Billions is great! I've been watching it on Prime right now they had a free month of Showtime, don't know if it's still available.
Counterpart is getting really good!
Too bad......someone should pick them up for more!

watched Queen's Gambit over the Christmas holidays. A nice short, very good series that with the break we were able to knock off in a couple weeks.
Don't have access to any of the other networks for your other recommendations.
Kids have university reading week in a couple so might have an opportunity to start a show....NARCOS looks interesting and gets decent reviews. it's 3 seasons though and unlike some , we arent tv addicts, 3 seasons will take us 6 months to watch ....
my question is are these 3 seasons separate stories or is it an ongoing story . We could begin a season of 10 episodes and that should have us wrap up in a couple months.
I've decided to re-watch the Mentalist to see if they had any clues to the identity of Red John in the beginning of the series.
