  • What Are Your Favorite Wedges - Component Or OEM?

Another wedge comparison pic. Top is a 48° Inazone Microgroove and the bottom one is a 50° Acer XB Satin.

At address the Microgroove looks huge compared to the XB.

Sparky I think I need to carry 10 wedges.

Ha, right now I likely have close to 10....different grinds and bounce for different seasons and conditions

have 5 in the bag but my scoring is the best in years so not likely to change as short game is a big reason for that. Sometimes I carry 15 but in comps obviously not and drop one of 4iron, 3hybrid or 4wood depending on the course being played.

i think the leading edge on both look pretty close. The chrome mist is a smaller head size and longer hosel.

colej thx for the photos. Doesn't look like any relief on the sole of the CM 2.0 and pretty consistent sole width heel to toe. Hmmmm! My Wishon PCF Micro Tour is a such a solid performer, no real reason to change.

I started out on FGI loving the Reid Lockhart DB Milled faced wedges, then the Eidolon Replacements, then the Wishon PCF Micro Tours, then I moved to the CLV CBX, to the CBX2. They work better for my steeper swing. Will test out the Mizuno ES21 this year to see if the sweet spot works better for me.

So my current favourite is the CBX2.

I’ve tried the Maltby M-Series, the Tillies, TRails and many more, but I still like the CBX2 the best.

colej I found out why these 431 heads are so cheap. Because they are! Not sending them back, because this company continues to piss me off and I want nothing to do with them at all. And I'd have to pay shipping.

The 2 heads are as different as night/day, 50 & 56. The 56 has the appearance of an Acer XB, which is a horrible looking thing. The 50 weighs 310g., the 56 weighs 300g.. I also bought a 48 of the DG-15, just to match my 52 & 56. It also weighs 310g.. WTF is going on with that company? Heads in their asses now they are so popular with the Sub 70???

2 thumbs down, not recommended. 😠

Spuzz YOu miss them from the fairway. You miss them in the rough and you miss them when you have a ball in the bunker. Sorry, I just had to. It was too easy. hahaha

You know that Roger made those things one mile up the road from me here in Oswego?

SMT Sorry, I just had to

No I did not know that.
I bought mine from Cliff Barron at Custom Club Shop, back when I started this DIY hobby.

Spuzz The owner of the company was Roger Mihalik(sp), a couple of times per year he would drop by my warehouse because it was on his way home from his warehouse about 1/4 mile away. As he walked in, before the door closed behind him he would always be SHOUTING.... "what's happnin?, I came in here to see what the word is in the golf industry". I always replied.... "and you came in HERE?"

I had to Spuzz, I just couldn't resist, scratch that I chose not to.

I picked up some OMGs from Rick, I'm gonna shaft up with some Matrix Studio 84s.

I would post a pic, but that's not an option anymore.

Anybody have any current wedge head suggestions?
