Cast is fine with me and I have played plenty of cast clubs that have felt good and performed really well for me. I loved (and still love even though I don't play them) my SMT 303s. That being said, I really do prefer the impact feel of forged. I've read many comments from people who claim that you can't really feel the difference, but I disagree. Before actually owning a set of forged clubs, I had read many descriptions of the feel as being "buttery." I thought, "What the hell does that mean." Then, the first time I took my Snake Eyes 600Cs to the range I thought, "Oh, that's what they mean." It feels like squeezing soft butter in your hand." I liked it.
That being said, I think that people put too much emphasis on forged versus cast. Feel is the only advantage I found. I don't find any difference in the way they play. I certainly wouldn't pay the kind of money they seem to want for new forged clubs.
