I'm 65 yrs. old, 5'6", 160#. Right-handed.

AND.....you're off on the yardage. It's a 551 yd. Par 5 hole. Just to be clear.

            puttnfool I'm not delusional, but you are an idiot, to be sure. All your mouthing off, and still you do not realize that any person can 'go for it' on every hole....regardless of distance. And most do!

            I can only hit driver an avg. of, let's say 210; occasionally up to 240. And make no mistake about it, I hit it as hard and as far as I can on every hole, when used. Even some Par 3s. Hitting the green is never going to happen on those Par 4 & 5 holes, but I'm still going to try.....in order to hit it as far as I possibly can.

            So, YES, I do 'go for it' on every hole. I have no option to do otherwise.

                Just because you're swinging out of your shoes doesn't mean you're going for it. If the hole is further away than you can possibly reach, you'd have to be full on retarded to think you're going for the hole. Then, again, maybe you do think that.

                    I take his statement to mean that he's swinging as hard as he can on every shot. Neat. Maybe he feels like he is, maybe he really is, maybe he's not. What difference does it make to you?

To me, the latter is "going for it". It depends on what is at stake, where I am playing, how tight the course is, the format, etc. My best scores are typically when I am playing "smart".
