I used to play year round if there wasn't snow on the ground. Played as low as 34. Walking's not bad but had a cart cover and heater too I sometimes used. I played last weekend and it was 48 and gray and I think I'm done for the year. I'm not as golf crazy as I was. If you're playing in a tournament or even with a group of guys with some cash on the line it's still fun cause everybody's in the same boat, but just to go out and knock it around, I think I've had my fill.

Rex, there was still a lot of leaves out there. The crew is putting in the irrigation system so any other type of upkeep is out the window. Usually they are good with the leaves. I lost an approach shot dead at the green but lost sight in the sun. Windy as feck and had 3 of us looking for it...nothing.

I'm hoping to play Friday. The predicted high is 59 but a 70% chance of rain. We could use the rain.

Same here. Until last night's cold. Seems like all the leaves everywhere just dropped overnight. Sidewalks around downtown RI were completely covered.

Same here. It is going to be in the 40's today but I am going to have to mow/mulch the yard before it rains tomorrow. Brrrr. My grass usually starts turning brown in August but it is still green and growing. The Aristocrat pear in my backyard just started dropping leaves two days ago. Usually the pear tree has millions of pears that ripen and make a mess but this year the birds and squirrels picked the tree clean about a month ago. I hope that isn't an indication for bad winter.

I heard a mild winter here in the Northeast. Hopefully the last 2 days are not a prequel....

South MS late fall in hold pattern . 70s daytime 45 at night.
No frost yet. Turnip greens and mustard greens still growing well. Not much color in foliage this year . Leaf drops mhave been working our yard vacuum hard for last two weeks. Compost pile growing.
Nice midday , evening duffing weather, enjoying relief from long hot summer & very thankful for no more hurricanes or fall tornadoes . Going through my stock of found balls rather fast lost into brumuda triangle rough / leaves.

I'm still waiting on Indian summer! We had the heat, then the gradual drop in temps, but no upturn of temps in the 70's, as is the norm toward end of Oct.. (prolly Al Gore's fault)

That's fine. I'll take it at Christmas instead.

Cold here today. High was in the 40s. Very windy. Not good for playing golf. I generally don't play if the temp is below 50. Played once when it was 38 degrees. Never again if I can help it.

Good weather coming back again this coming week, though, with forecast highs in the low 60s. That's actually really nice for a round of golf. I walk in the fall when it's cooler.

Typhoon I heard a mild winter here in the Northeast.

I still remember the pics you posted a few years back with your house buried.......................shit, that still makes me shiver.

Got up at 5 a.m. and it was lightly raining. By 9, it was snowing @ 37 degrees! Big, wet flakes. Came down quite a while, but never stuck. Temps are going to stay in this range, but no mention of snow in the forecasts.

      Yet!!

Remember the January thaw in NW Indiana, WELL!
Our horses got loose and Ran through my neighbor's yards.
Every hoof print sank in about 6-12" deep leaving little volcano mounds throgh their yards. I'm repairing apologizing
      God I miss those days😊

ZWExton In my youngerdays I have played with snow on the ground and ice on the ponds, ground so hard you couldn't get a tee in the ground. But no more. Now its 50 and sunny or 55 and overcast before I play.
(By the way, the ice on the pond melts around the edges first, so no matter how many times you skip a ball across the ice it always falls in at the far edge.😞)

Those shorts were probably under his sweatpants. He forgot to put them back on after swimming in the pond to retrieve a ball.

It was warm enough here to play yesterday (40's and almost no wind) but even if I had been in good enough physical shape to play, we got an email from the club that the greens had been treated with an anti snow mold mixture and urged all to stay off of them.
