Spuzz Since I feel that is all BS, it matters not to me.
I also think having all kinds of different adapters is BS as well.
Old school is still the best school for me.

And I will not fault you for that. But for me, since my swing changed and I needed more loft, I went with an adjustable driver and have modified it several times. Of course, I need to fix my swing, but not until the season is over (December). Once that happens, I may be able to go from the current 12.5 that I have it set to down to hopefully a 10.5 or so.

SVonhof the adapters make it easy to swap out shafts, and as long as you know what's being adjusted.

IMO old school is still best getting the f.a. correct with the right loft, by either hand-picking or bent. vs. adapters where adjusting f.a. gets to the desired loft. If I need 12* and open f.a., that is nearly impossible to get to with an adapter as undoubtedly would be closing the face to add loft, same scenario if low loft is needed with a closed f.a., the adapter opens the f.a. to get to the lower loft....imo the big flaw with how the adapters work, you still need the head digitally lofted with the f.a. to know where you are starting!

Wishon offers handpick and bending; golfworks offers hand-picking.....not sure that is even an option for OEM unless it's a tour head.

I will say the cobra f6 with the smartpad seems to do the trick fairly well, where I've been able to adjust loft up and still feel like it sits neutral.

Still have a Mizuno 3w and 19deg hybrid in the bag, and an Odyssey putter. Wishon everything else.

Play what works. I'm not even 30 but I'm already too old to give a F what anyone else is playing. OEM is fine, and fine for cheap is great.

I'm having built my first all component bag for use next season. So far I've got 5,6 hybrid Acer xf's and 7-Aw Power Play Warp Speeds. I might add another hybrid or two component wise, but am having a hard time justifying component woods and driver when OEM woods and drivers are so cheap. Ill keep looking though.

I have a component bag and an OEM bag.................

    Component bag-
    Wishon driver (919) or Juggernaut
    Wishon fairways (949) or Juggernaut
    Wishon hybrids (775)
    Wishon irons (Sterling)
    Wishon wedges (PCF Micro Tour)
Scotty putter (but will get a Wishon soon and move Scotty to OEM bag)

    OEM bag-
    Callaway driver (X2 Hot Pro)
    Callaway fairways (X2 Hot Deep)
    Callaway hybrid (X2 Hot)
    Taylormade irons Aeroburner)
    Cleveland wedges (588 RTX)
    Odyssey putter (O Works #7)

😣 OK, I confess! I do have my PING putter....but I bought it new before I met FGI.(iirc) I also have the Diablo Octane Tour 3 & 5 wd.(reshafted with DTG shafts), only because no component co. makes decent fw heads. Not even Wishon, which I had several of. SMT did, but they always seemed to have an upright lie angle, for some reason. When I order from Value Golf, they say Thanks Rex, (first name basis, see?). When I walk into DTG, they say..."watch that fucker...check his pockets when he leaves!!"(again, 1st name basis)

And, I bought these OEM clubs brand new, not waiting 'til they dropped in price.
    I.AM.NOT.CHEAP!! Like "those other guys".

Mostly component here. I do have a TaylorMade Burner TP driver in the bag, but it has been reshafted with an old school AccFLEX Evolution. The putter is a MentorSports Duet. Those are the only two non-components in the bag.

The 3wd is a Powerbilt Citation, the 5wd is a Dynacraft Hypersteel (from ~15 years ago or more), the irons are Wishon 550m/c, Dynacraft Genesis hybrids, and Dynacraft Dual Milled wedges.

      puttnfool I don't think so.

      http://powerbilt.com/

Dynacraft dates back to 1980. Unless you bought those components thru Hireko, or the likes of.

Those 2 companies were OEMs. So, depending on the ages of your clubs.....just sayin'.

I was into building clubs for close to 15 years. My whole bags and my wife's bag was all components. Today I have all OEM and my wife has three component clubs all Wishon and the rest is OEM. They are so cheap it costs less than to buy components and put them together. I used to enjoy regripping my clubs as well, but I feel the grips are so much better and last much longer so I don't need new grips for at least 2 years.

I don't buy clubs based on price, so I don't really care that OEMs or components are cheaper. I build components because I can customize them. (And please don't mistake customization with the ability to move weights or adjust the adapter. I'm not sure about the effects of moving the weights (I have never tried it), but I think changing lofts/lies via a hosel adapter is smoke and mirrors that has the potential to get people in more trouble, rather than help them.)

So am I one of the few people who still has an ALL component bag?? Wishon driver, Acer Thriver, Wishon 4W, Power Play hybrids (soon to be Pinhawks), Wishon irons, DTG wedge, and DTG putter.

Mixed bag here. Mizuno driver, Cleveland gap and Slotline lob wedges, can't even remember what brand or model the putter is, but is OEM. A Liquid Metal 3 wood put together with the OEM components as sold by Golfsmith for a time. Component Golfsmith hybrid 3, Alpha Pro-C forged irons 4 - PW, and an SMT Durometer sand wedge.

My office is located near a PGA Tour Superstore and a couple of Dick's Sporting Goods, so the OEM clearance racks have driven away much of my components. The latest DSG clearance has put Cobra F7 in my driver/fw/hybrid spots ($240 for all 3). So much adjustment possible in those clubs, and I was always fighting the gaps between 4i - 2/3/4h - 3w. DSG had a lot of Odyssey Works putters at $50-$60. PGATSS had Hogan TK Wedges at $49. As much as I love clubmaking, components can't win with OEMs at those prices.

I still keep my irons as components (Dynacraft Prophet MBs). I prefer heavy graphite shafts, and for OEMs that means Steelfiber or Recoil. With those, you are looking at a $1,000+ set. I can still put together a good set of irons for cheap, this set of Prophets with UST Tour Weight graphites cost me under $200 all in.

Heck, PGATSS last month had a table full of clearance golf balls at $0.97 per sleeve. Tons of WS Duo, WS Fifty, TM Aeroburner Pro, Titleist Velocity, Titleist NXT Tour, Cally Speed Regime SR3, Bridgestone B330RXS. I bought 32 sleeves. I had so many golf balls I couldn't even find space to go buy the latest run of Kirkland balls.

Mixed bag with mostly used junk , er previously owned OEM ex FGI, Buzz, fleabay, PIAS and reshafted with component parts. G15 driver reshafted bought new -never again! , TM 200 Steel 3 wood reshafted , Cobra SZ 5 wood reshafted w Nippon , 3,4,5 hybrids I Drive , Yea!, Mizuno irons reshafted , Sand Wedge Hogan freebe reshafted , lob wedge DTG 2 Hatton shafted with DG pull from PIAS junk donor, Hogan Betinardi Baby Ben putter ex fleabay , stock, Sun Mountain C something cart bag Univ of Ala logo $35.00 ex PIAS too.
          I'm really , really cheap!

I have been using primarily components for 15 years or more. For about 20 years I played golf maybe once per year. I had a set of blades I could no longer hit well like I could when I was on my high school golf team. I couldn't justify or afford a new set of clubs. Then a component shop opened near my house. The owner let my play his personal set of perimeter weighted irons. My interest in the game was reborn and when his shop closed I discovered clubmaking info on the internet and equipment was affordable. As the golf industry has taken the downward spiral for the last ten years less is available in component form and little new stuff coming out. I do have some component SL irons and SL fairways in da bag. Prices on OEM gear has gotten very cheap. I am now seeing some OEM stuff creeping into my bag. After seeing my buds having success with the TM M2 driver I snagged a like new head and stuck a UST Mamiya ATTAS 5 shaft in it and it is the best I have ever hit. Still using a Mentorsports Triad II putter and don't see it going anywhere. Currently looking for something new in irons to try. Might even consider a set of OEMS. A bud has a set of Ping G30's and has been striping them all year.

I was virtually all component for about 20 years, but I've drifted over to the dark side as well. When 3-5 year old OEM drivers can be had for $25 with patience from EBay, it's hard to justify $75-$100 components. The non-adjustable OEM drivers get incredibly cheap, and I'm fine with pulling shafts. I picked up some ti face 15 year old Bridgestone irons that are really long for under $150, and I didn't even change the shafts. I have some Tour Series and Chicago wedges, but I have an old Mizuno putter that's been treating me well. I just picked up three Final drivers, 10.5, 12, and 14 -- a clone of the first (I think) square Callaway driver -- brand new for pretty much pocket change. I've been using the 14 for a couple of weeks -- it'll be my winter driver.

Long gone are the days when components were popular and the swap shop was loaded with new toys to try cheap. I miss the days at FGI when i would consumate 2-3 deals a week fighting off other ho's like Darkside , Coachsb, Baab, Cutter, Fishergolf , lowpost42 and so many more trying to get my hands on that new component driver head or iron set. Wasnt unusual for me to have 25 drivers and 10 sets of irons on hand at any given time.

Quality component Brands such as Ashton, SMT, Bang, Alpha, Nakashima, KZG, Wishon, Infiniti , Pure fit, Golf smith, Golf Works , Innovex and many more produced some awesome product at user friendly pricing. Now, quality components are few and far between and expensive. I still like and use Wishon and Golfworks and both maintain the high quality.

At the same time as components falling off the map OEM's dropped significantly in price making them more attractive. I used to be 99% component but now I am 99% OEM. I still have a set of Wishon 560 mc , a couple component putters and woods ( Ashton, SMT, Innovex) but my two main bags are pretty much all OEM.

I recently demoed the Sterlings and they look and play great but wow! Are they pricey. Im a SL believer so going to build me a set of Pinhawks and should they make the cut will move to the Sterlings later next summer and sell my i20's

I went from all OEM (callaway) to a set of ping clones (DTG ) but I still use my Odyssey putter.

          Par4QC I don't think so.

You're free to disagree, but you'll be wrong.

I'm aware that Powerbilt clubs are sold assembled as OEM clubs, but I purchased this one as a component from Hireko. The only Dynacraft clubs in my bag that came from Hireko are the wedges. The Hypersteel 5wd and the hybrids came from Dynacraft before they were bought by Hireko. I'm 100% sure of the Hypersteel, but I could be mistaken on the hybrids. Honestly, they might have been one of the heads in inventory at the time of sale.
