PA-PLAYA If I "had" to pick one, I'd pick Phil. Both are well spoken and witty. Phil Obviously not the list of winning accomplishments of Tiger but Phil has still had a long and very successful career ( which should continue on for several more years). He's still winning and competitive at 47 years old. From what we see , his life appears to be less troubled past and more in order, he has a great sense of commitment to his family and friends , reportedly is incredibly generous and based on the talk of players and those in the know from the last Ryder and Pres Cup is considered one of the best leaders on the US side. Now if I were still in my 20's , I might side differently and choose the whores, drugs and money ( mind you Phil isn't hurtin financially)

Modern day between JS and JT. I don't know much about JT but we've been given many glimpses into the life of JS and he , like Phil seems to be well grounded and have an incredible focus on family and what's important in life outside golf. ( i"m sure neither are perfect nobody is) He appears humble and mature beyond his years and from all we hear and see is very well liked and respected...and of course very successful and accomplished at a young age so hard not to like him. He can be a bit too theatrical on course but that's just him playing golf.

plus they are all well younger than me 🙂

    IF I had to choose, I'd want to be in Jordan Spieth's shoes. His devotion to his little sister with challenges is inspirational.

    Tiger Woods and I both like Perkins Restaurants. His choice of pie filling and his idea of 'take out' are different from mine, however. 😁

    Phil has often been labeled "flakey" - in that he's perceived as a different persona off the course versus on it. The same could obviously be said of Tiger.... but taking the off-the-course persona out of the equation - I'd still have to side with Mickelson. Not sure there's been a more active ambassador of the game since Arnie.... beloved, revered for his sportsmanship, class, and interaction with the fans. Who can forget the genuine sincerity he showed back during his Open Championship win back in 2013?! He intimately shared that experience with the tens of thousands of fans on hand that year at Muirfield. Still holding out hope that despite his age - he can somehow capture the career grand slam in the next few years.

    And that's no slight toward Tiger.... just that (to me) it's not just about career accomplishments.

    As far as Jordan vs Justin.... I think Jordan has a higher mental IQ than Justin, while Justin has more physical talent overall. For now, anyway. It's a tough call. I lean toward Jordan, again because of his mannerisms and sense of overall sportsmanship. I'll put it this way - if Jordan and Justin were tied going into the final round of a major - more people would root for Jordan than Justin. I just think that overall - people appreciate kindness and sincerity, and one would struggle to find someone more kind and sportsmanlike than Jordan in the modern era of the pro game.

    Overall, I think the game is in great shape. We might experience fatigue because of the length of season, the monotony of a sports season that doesn't ever seem to end. But we've got a lot of great young talent, and a handful of veterans who've yet to succumb to the younger generation and are still vying to stay relevant.

    Considering that Tiger hasn't been relevant for going on 4 seasons now, the Tour's biggest draw and literal cash-cow for the better part of a decade - I think that speaks for itself.

    Although, I do believe that the money aspect is creating complacency in the modern era... but that's another discussion for a different time.

    Well, it would have been quite the experience to be a "sex addict"...

    As for Justin and Jordan debate, Justin will probably have the better resume but Jordan will likely have more longevity based on how hard they swing. To me, Thomas is more susceptible to injury like Tiger or Rory based purely on his swing velocity. It will be interesting to see how many of the stars today will be able to continue on the Senior tour or if they will even want to since they likely won't need the money.

    I'd rather be Phil, just to show off that short game.

    And Jordan as his game will allow him to be around for many years

      Tiger in his prime, I would have figured out the personal issues, or not, sounds like a helluva ride.

      Phil the thrill for sure. Love the way he handles himself, displays immeasurable class and character to fans and teammates in team events. A proven leader and role model in how to treat people. For me no other golfer provides the excitement he does in the go for it attitude he displays.
      Jordan Speith is a class act. Conducts himself with good grace and character with the true grit of a champion. Going to be fun watching him high on the leaderboard for another 20 years.

      If I can't be Spuzz, I'll go with Lefty and Jordan. I'd probably not be a gambler off the course, but going for it on the course makes Phil phun! Jordan is 100% a class act to follow.

          Phil over Tiger, Phil's a gambler, some shady stock deals, too. Tiger- F'U d his whole life. Had a great wife and kids,now he's just a balding ageing golfer.

          JT over JS, very close here, seems to me JT can win more consistently, JS has no performance spells. Both are good guys thou.

          Wouldn't trade my life for anyone's, but from a golf standpoint it would be Tiger. At a time when things were deemed too competitive to dominate in, he played golf at a level never seen before. After Tom Watson started to fade, pundits and announcers were talking about how the game had become so competitive with all of the young talent that it would be hard for anybody to expect much more than Faldo, Els, and Ballesteros were doing. Then Tiger came along with a very dominant 12 years where he was seemingly always in contention. The two young fellows, Speith and Thomas still have much ahead of them, but lets see if they can stay on the leader-board of majors over a long haul. The year Speith had with 2 wins and 2 seconds in the majors will stand him out even if he never takes another. Michelson has a very impressive record, but I appreciate that he genuinely seems to find enjoyment in his work and life and hope that is reality for him.

          I would not like to be either Phil or Tiger, but if we are talking just professional career I would take Tiger in a heartbeat. I certainly would not like to live in his shoes though. By the same token I would not like to live in Phil's shoes either. I like who I am and would not like to be someone else. I think I would take Jordan over Justin but both are good players and seem to be as a nice person on and off the course.

          Going from a strictly golf perspective I have to go with Phil for the current longevity of his game compared to Tiger. It's definitely not an easy choice and if asked again I could easily change my mind because it's hard to turn down the level of dominance Tiger had the years he was dominate. However, Phil has been able to remain competitive and relevant in the game he is so passionate about and I think that edges it out for me.

          As far as Speith vs Thomas I'm going to go with my gut and choose Speith because I think his game is going to give him the better chance to remain competitive for longer. Thomas swings so hard that it's not hard to imagine him hurting his back or something else that may harm his effectiveness in the future. Hopefully they both stay healthy and competitive for a long time but they are a testimate to how talented the young golfers joining the tour are so who knows who we may be talking about 5 years from now.
