Sneakylong My PING's are ~ D1with stock shafts and D3 with my UST VTS shaft. My Cobra's are in the low D range.
scotts33 rsvman Nope Golf club MOI in Kg/cm2. This is done via a GolfMechanix Speed Match and is expressed as such. Or you could express it in 1000s gram/inchesΒ². Worksheets for Speed Match are in this pdf. http://www.golfmechanix.com/src/updates/P070205ME.pdf
Bisonmeat Just got fitted for a TS3 8.5 with 4g standard weight with oban devotion 7 (04 flex / 75g). He told me it has an E4 SW. Not sure if that is right for me. Swing speed was ranging from 105-108 mph and 155-159mph ball speed
LogicalOne Bisonmeat Welcome to the forum! π Take some time to introduce yourself in the 2020 Roll Call thread. π
colej Bisonmeat welcome! Maybe he meant D4? Usually something in the 45β-45 1/2β range would come in at D4-D5 with a 70βs gram weight shaft.
ode Most heads (with adapter) are going to be higher then 200g and most clublengths are going to be more than 45" stock, so you'll get some crazy SW unless the shaft is CB. My Cobra LTD is 208g without the adapter! Ping G LST is 206g with adapter. I don't mind as I'm going heavy anyways and saves.me the hassle. Not sure where the other OEMs fall on this.
KCee ode Ping G LST is 206g with adapter. Darn I got screwed. The G400 SFT I just snagged is only 201 with the adapter. I plan on lead taping it or buying a heavier weight to add 5g or so. My last 3 Cally drivers were all around 200g stock including adapters too. I like heavier heads, but I rarely find them anymore. Guess I am looking in the wrong spots.
ode KCee (edit, nm, see you posted about the g400, not the G.....best price I've seen usa for g400 weights is golfworks) fyi the cobra f7 weights fit ... Might save u some cash if you can find em. I got a few from hurricane golf last year.
Par4QC My Cobra F9 head weighs 206, w/adapter. And I'm playing it at 47". SW comes out to about E4. Just built a Ping G5. Head weight 201, shaft 77gr.. Played it today at 47". SW came out between E4/E5. Thing feels heavy under the hands, but hammered the snot out of the ball. Very surprising. I think all of my drivers are E2-E7.
DonM Stock TM M4 but with 42g (I think) Winn midsize LT grip, is D3. So it would be D1 with a normal grip. That seems light for drivers by today's norms. The 55 gram shaft is counterbalanced, though.
Par4QC Weirfan I don't even bother to check any more, just build it-play it; same with my other clubs. I only went back and checked when I read this thread. If they feel good, they are the perfect swingweight for me.
Mattyv My 3 current drivers all come in between D3 and D6. I am a swing weight believer. This thread prompted me to check my Maltby TS1 irons that I did not build. I like my irons around a D2 weight and the TS1's were coming in at a mid C weight. I will be adding weight to them before my next round.
Spuzz Mattyv My 3 current drivers all come in between D3 and D6. I am a swing weight believer. Ditto.
KCee ode Thanks good to know. I was hoping to snag a weight next day off Amazon, but none of them ship that quickly so I will probably get one from Golfworks. For now I just lead taped it. I did notice the BBGM is about 1/2" less than most other drivers I've used recently so most shafts I had laying around are a bit short, but close enough to try out I guess.
