LPGA dress code thoughts

Just read that the LPGA has passed down regulations as to what the ladies can or cannot wear on tour. It seems a shame, on what is pretty ordinary golf, we now will lose out on enjoying some of the cuter lassies. Sandra Gal, Gerina Piller, et al will now be wrapped up like muslim women, and the LPGA will wonder why their ratings have tanked. Guess I'll have to satrt watching the Web.com tour...

Any particular reason to exaggerate so much? Read the restrictions? They're quite limited. Now, if they cut into the attire for "golf cart girls" well then, ...

Maybe you should just visit Paging Cleveland TA7 instead of the LPGA?

I remember watching one the last few.events, was either the us open or thornberry and one girl had the equivalent of running shorts/hot pants......did it bother me, no, because she looked good in them, but there could be plenty of players who wouldn't, just saying....and working with 90% women, there is a huge discrepancy between what is considered acceptable attire between men and women on the job. I suspect the jogging hot pants will be one of the restrictions!

ode The change addressed specific concerns related to the use "athletic apparel", like running pants, leggings under skirts/skorts, and low-cut tops that showed cleavage and sleeveless blouses. For example, Michelle Wie must show less of her upper thighs.

Haven't noticed a problem with how the women dress. However, I'd fine anyone who wears a ribbon in their hair.

professor ok thx.....shame re Wie, cuz she looks great with whatever she puts on, but I understand the skirt length thing, also sleeveless blouses, and it seems.to me, many players look to be wearing t-shirts.

My wife is the fashion expert and says the ribbons should cease once you enter your teens. Speaking of the Patriots, I'll be in attendance in early October at Raymond James Stadium when the Bucs host the Pats in Tampa.

While I can appreciate the appeal of trying to sneak a peek up the short skirt of an attractive female player, that's ultimately not the reason I watch the women play. And if that's ultimately the motivating factor that lures in male viewers, then I don't reckon not tuning in won't impact their ratings all that much.

I don't think it's asking too much of the ladies to uphold a certain standard as far as appearance. To me, it's representative of just how much better the LPGA Tour is these days than it has been in the past, at least as it relates to quality of play.

I commend Commissioner Whan for assuming that his product should command a little more respect than just the occasional eye-candy aspect. Besides, it's not like they've suddenly become a swimsuit model factory for that matter.

I think it is bull shit that the PGA pros can't wear shorts and have to tuck in their shirt tails. Just more outdated BS.

Sun Sleeves are cool! I wear them now - golfing and fishing. No more scalpels and pathology tests. Sun tans are "un-cool".
Oh, and there's a side benefit of compression on elbows and wrists that's great for providing a little support for those fat shots and others (you know when you get closer to the ball at impact than you were at address - aka a commode brand in the UK).

You can get them at Amazon or the nearest Golf Galaxy. Had a spot removed two years ago from my arm that was (thankfully) Basal-Cell in situ.... had yet to develop into a cancerous lesion.

I've lost two dear friends to Melanoma over the past several years. If you don't use protective clothing, please use no less than 50 spf sunscreen and apply prior to the round and at the turn. Remember to get the ears, arms, neck and legs.

I'm a fan of Neutrogena products. I apply a wipe-on covering prior to the round and a spray-on covering at the turn.

50 spf - otherwise you're basically putting on a base-layer that isn't gonna protect much, especially if you sweat and are constantly wiping (like me).

As my friend said many years ago - it's hard to get laid without ears. 😉
