Ok thanks. I have both of those! I even have a heat gun on the bench. That's easy enough.

I have an aluminum tube clamped to my heat gun. I just rattle it around the shaft for about 30 secs. and the tape peels right off. I then use mineral spirits to remove the goo then acetone to remove the mineral spirits.

You can also make one of these from an old vacuum cleaner tube.

I don't have any tubing or pipe laying around. I'll probably just throw the heat gun on low and go after it.

That works. Keep washing the tape with heat. If it doesn't come off add more heat.

I built a scraper using an old steel shaft but I love that idea of using an aluminum tube on a heat gun. I'll be building one this weekend. Thanks!

Actually I got the idea from GolfSmith who used to sell these.

Hmm, never thought of trying a heat gun on old tape. Good to know.

I bought an old set of KZG irons to pull the heads and sell and then keep the shafts (UST Proforce Tour Weight). Finally got around to reusing the shafts yesterday. Cut the grips off, and the tape below just peeled off so super easy. Just made my day. Thanks to whoever in golfland made that set.

I built one of these ............used it today ...........worked great.

        Thanks again for the idea!
