You just have forgotten that you saw them because it was so long ago! Like I say, it took me about 5 months to get down and pick them up.

kelco9 The XV Pros are really nice, with a nice thin top line and a really nice feel. But it is the forged Prophets that have me blown away. I have never had the same response to any set of irons upon unpacking them: they are beautiful! The thinness of the topline screams players iron, but the length of the face makes them look super playable.

For those, like yourself, that are easily amused, you should see/hit the XV Tour Blades.

rsvman Yeah, I'm looking forward to trying that driver. I bought it off Ode.

One of the main reasons I bought it (apart from the fact I have always wanted to try one) is that it came measuring to my exact club length spec: 44.25". I have only swung it in my yard a few times, but it feels really good. I think the shaft is a good weight for me because I have no problem swinging it on plane, and it drops into the slot very easily for me. I'm going to take a bit of lead tape out to the range with me just in case I have to add a bit of weight to the head. I seem to lose the feel for it a bit during the swing, but we'll see.

Playing the HL 919 picked to 12, bent open 2, with an s2s black 85 @ 43.75". Its a sledgehammer, as I have the headweight up quite a bit, and total weight around 381g.

Interestingly, I took these irons out to the range and was amazed by how little feedback I got from them. I've never hit anything like that before (that goes for both the XVs and the Prophets). I suspect that it is the shaft, and I'm going to swap in a PX shaft into one of them (that's what I usually play) to see if that makes a difference.

What shafts did you have in them before? I've never encountered a worst feeling shaft than the PX.

Sparky I bought these irons off someone on this forum. They came with Apollo firm flex shafts. I guess this all goes back to why people should be fitted for shafts: feel as much as anything. You're like my friend who can't stand PX shafts, but I love them. I find that they flight the ball really well for me, and I can feel where I have hit the face. I haven't found a shaft I like better.

BTW, as for feedback on the 919 head, I really like the feel, sound, and feedback on it. However, the shaft is not right for me, so I will have to play around a bit with that. All that being said, I am loving the feel and flight of my SMT Spectrum so much that I doubt that the 919 will kick it from the bag.
